I had an "important meeting" today, mentioned earlier in the thread ... I was offered the offer, but enough of that.

I wore: size 8 jeans, that don't fit as I put on a stone over Xmas, random top that sort of fitted a bit and hid the big muffin top of the jeans and I had nothing else that fitted. Over that a hoody. On my feet some 10 year old walking boots. My top quality bag was a big faded beach bag I bought 2 years ago for £2.99.

I was "hired" for a gig based on my knowledge... not my fashion sense.

    :)

    Well done PN :T

    One of my favs :)

Definitely an ad! Are you an advertising exec with a penchant for big guitar riffs?!

Very good. With slight double vision it's like being at the gig!

No, it's not that gig. It's a speaking gig..... one two hour slot.... at some future point that isn't even known (so might not even happen). But... for me, it's nice I can go into a seat of learning and bowl them over without even trying, so they offer me such a slot to their undergrads.

The £250k giggle is next week.
  • YouTube a technical question.
(My browser of choice is Firefox.)

Normally I can click the full screen option and get a more realistic experience, all be it somewhat fuzzy.
    Initially up comes the message:
Press Esc to exit full screen mode
Usually this message fades away promptly.
However more and more I'm finding the message is staying across the middle of the screen.
Have I got a setting that is wrong or are the owners of the film clip doing this to encourage the fans to buy a down load?

I went for my Cambridge interview in my ripped jeans and denim jacket; I was the only candidate there not in a suit and later found out that the other candidates had thought I was one of the undergrads there to answer questions. The interviewer asked me about my attire and my answer was that if it mattered then I had obviously applied to the wrong college - I suspect that is the only reason I got in and they regretted it for the next 3 years...

Good nutrition? Any nutrition as far as I was concerned when growing up. Couldn't stop eating. Used to have a "tea" after getting in from school before mum cooked a couple of hours later for all of us. Starving. Bless.
My mum says the food bill quite literally halved when I moved out. Not quite the metabolic furnace I was as a teen nowadays but still eat plenty and mainly healthily.

As for the protected bit, that's what the mrs says she likes but then it's not often I can actually hear what she's saying seeing as she is so close to the ground :D

It's like that with my eldest son, he eats and eats and eats all day long and never grows outwards, just upwards...most unfair, I see food and it is immediately on my hips!

I also notice the large increase needed in buying food when it is school holidays and his friend is away seeing her dad....it doesn't just double, it triples!
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Right, OK, I have a dress (2 actually :j), I have some champagne for the couple....

...lir suggested I say its for their 1st wedding anniversary- which I think is a wicked idea- but how? Shall I write a cheesy poem in the card or something?

    'roses are red
    violets are blue
if you're still together in a year
you can down this between you'

    ? :D

any serious ideas? :o Also, is it naff to put a ribbon round it or something? :o
