We had a beautiful bt brief snow fall on Monday, and hail and sleet for a bout 10 minutes yesterday. Today is beautiful, cold, pale blue sky, but with a wind that bites viciously. The ground is frozen, whch always helps me, but then so are my joints, which doesn't!0

Very poetic description, lir.
I can picture it perfectly.
Here it's now actually bright sunshine. Just freezing.0 -
I know you're near me, silvercar, but don't know exactly where.
The good/bad news - depending on your perspective - is that the 'swirling, whirling snowstorm' (prize to all parents who can tell me where that quote's from) which engulfed us a couple of minutes ago, has now stopped. Clear skies again, v cold.
Not going out, as at home with sad cross boy with terrible earache, and strong dislike for his medicine.
Well the 'swirling, whirling snowstorm' (going on a bear hunt BTW) has now settled and turned the grass white.
Stopped snowing now.

Congratulations.

All different here. The snow started at about midday....nothing settled but is whisking around, the wind taking it up as often as down. dog dog, and the cats (and even the big dogs) want me to take them up to bed, and keep herding me towards the stairs with a slow circular group effort. Chickens look miserable (and had another near death incident today, so deserve to). the neighbourssheep have left the orchard and gone own to the barn to huddle in: sheep huddling from the cold?0

It's been on and off all day. I've been lucky and managed to miss it when out.
Weird weather.0 -

It's been lovely here, and though cold, not bad enough to stop DD2 laying a bit of hedge. Muck spreading going on all around us ATM, so the chilly wind has an extra piquancy!:)0
