Aware of what?
There is a much liked and well respected regular poster on here called treliac. It's confusing to have another poster called Treliac.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
Hey ho. Off again next Saturday playing a gig. Just at what age do you stop being funky and jazzy. Mind you, still loving it. Jimmy Smith, Charlie Earland, and all you guys, still digging that sound.0

I was never really funky or jazzy, but I tried to be, fronting a band that suffered schizophrenia. The only reason I got the job was that no one else wanted to sing.
The schizophrenic bit was because virtually everyone in the band was a classical musician in their student day job, so the things we played were generally regarded as 'a bit of fun' by the entire brass section. They were quite heavy drinkers and couldn't be relied upon to turn up. When they did, we could be a ten-piece, but at other times there would be only five of us.
Naturally, we had two overlapping repertoires, which included jazz influenced material when everyone was present. Otherwise, we were mostly rock. To be honest, it was easier for me to handle Stones material than, say, Blood Sweat & Tears. Either way, I could rarely hear myself, and the live recordings tend to prove that!:rotfl:
I occasionally dream that we are re-forming. Our old lead guitarist is still playing with a fairly well-known 70s band, and good luck to him, but I never had any talent in the first place, so there's no need for a reprise.0 -

Did you think treliac had just had a bit of a personality shift or been at the booze? (Apologies treliac!)
My favourite bit was where Treliac claimed she (?) was a real individual, a 'lone wolf' was I think the phrase. Unfortunate choice of name, that being the case.0 -
Just on the off chance that you genuinely don't know...

I don't know whether I'm doing this right, so if the link brings up the whole thread I'm referring to post 40 http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=29316813#post29316813
I've genuinely enjoyed many of the true treliacs posts. So, in this case, (& part of me is kinda sad to say) I'm glad to see the PPR letters under Treliac. It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

I must admit being a musician is the most enriching thing ever, well at least for me. It enabled me to have a great social life. It`s been a provider of income. Not so much the gigging ( although a few bob came in that way ) but for 95% of my working life, day time, has involved music.
Heck in my 20`s and 30`s I travelled a fair bit of the world due to my work with one of the worlds largest musical electronics manufacturers.
I had gone to train to be a music and art teacher but I was floored with illness and a long hospital stay so that didn`t happen. How ever, later in life I had a great job in designing and teaching semi- teccy courses in sound systems.
Winding down a bit now which in a way is nice. Playing has gone from up to 5 times a week to the occasional blast.
One of my God children plays with this crowd for all you progressive folkies.

Right you lot. Enough of all this. Houses, are they gonna go up or down?:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0
