Was it Rupert Brooke Curlytop? He wrote this.
I'm afraid this weekend seems far too early for Christmas decorations to me. It isn't even December yet! Advent starts on Sunday but Advent is supposed to be a penitential season in the church so churches won't (or shouldn't be) be decorated until Christmas Eve. It is a time of quiet, reflective waiting, but we like to celebrate before the festival happens don't we? Then we're all fed up of it by Boxing Day. You can't sell Christmas once it's over can you? Our tree goes up after school finishes for the holidays.
Haribo -I hope your little girl is feeling better today.
Bathroom cleaning is on the agenda today, plus wine buying:beer:
We've had porridge for breakfast. Lunchboxes have ham or pate sandwiches, white choc and cherry biscuits and apples.
Supper will be salmon fishcakes, peas and parsley sauce.
I'm also going to be making a quince tart for pudding tomorrow lunchtime as we have friends coming. I'm going to make a bag of crumble topping too. I thought I'd make little banana and nutella crumbles for the kids.
I shall also make some giblet stock as one of the chickens I have defrosting has giblets. That will go in the gravy tomorrow to eat along with roast chicken, roast potatoes and veg.
Must do some ironing.
Have a good day all;)0 -
Morning All!
Been awake since 5am, made a cuppa and got up later. Since I've retired I've been waking and getting up earlier, wonder why?!
Spoke to DS last night. He is going to try and get to Uni today. The army are starting on building a bridge across the river today, so that Workington can get back to normal. It's really hard at the moment apparently. They have a 30 mile round trip just to get to the other side of the river!
Chicken casserole and bread & butter pud in the oven on slow cook as we speak.
WM on too, I must be getting organised again:rotfl:
Taking my Dad to the hospital today for a CT scan. Hope it's good news, but not sure:o
I don't know why, but I can't get my head round Christmas yet, and normally I'm so organised, it's all done by now. Maybe it's because I'm not working.....
Heard from ESA, Tribunal is in the New Year. Hope we win.:o
Anyway, ((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))) if you need them.
Have a good day all.I Believe in saving money!!!:T

Good morning all, Mark here emailing from my (very cold for some reason)classrooom.
Ann has informed me that unless I post on here today she will break lots of my body parts:eek:(I think she is joking-well I hops she is)
I have been given a list every day and "instructions" to post but after wading through my school emails(93 yesterday morning alone) just haven't the time. I also don't like doing private emailing from school although it is allowed.
We are a computer free zone at the moment. We had been waiting for a switch for our desktop but it turned out to be far more serious than that(Isn't it always the case?) and to have it repaired would not be cost effective given its age so will be replacing shortly.
Ann's laptop(make that her beloved laptop) is also in a bad way. However it is being looked at and will be back by next Thursday. I am leaving home if it is not as next Friday the tickets for the next Level 42 tour go on sale. Won't be pretty in Manchester:rotfl:
Am VERY glad to be working 40 miles away! Currently she has a print out of the dates and a lot of our conversations involve Ann sitting with the AA road atlas, the list of dates and snippets such as " Margate, Glasgow ,Southend or Oxford what do you think?" And "should I go to Bristol?" Who knows?
Anyway far too much boring information.
Ann wanted to send her love to you all and to say that she can read some of the daily on her phone but cannot post.
We both wanted to send our love and best wishes to Harribo, her DH, and both Dtwins. Much love to you all. Hope everything returns to normal as soon as possible.
Well my hoards are due shortly so off to have another fun day.
Take care and best wishes to all.
Mark (for and on behalf of my scary! wife)
I forgot to say that she told me she is still being as OS as she can be given her crutches!
Also I noticed that there are 6 Private messages which I will leave for her to read so if you have messaged Ann and not had a reply please bear with her.Blind as you run...aware you were staring at the sun.
And when no hope was left inside on that starry starry night.

Morning All
Day off for me today :j well i say day off... already taken DS1 to work for 7am and I have to take DS2 for a physio appointment at 11:30...then take step kids to their Mums for the weekend and do the meal plan. shopping list and shopping for the week ahead...did i say day off??? maybe day of no paid work might be more apt!:D
Had a good night last night - had a MS job where i had to go drink wine...it was work who am I to argue?
then me and DH went to the Continental Market at the City Hall in Belfast...Bought some lovely coffee which was ground there (and is in the pot now!) ...I had a bratwurst, DH had a Wildboar burger and we shared a bison burger...Got home took painkillers for my hip....then had another glass of wine...and wondered why I was up at 2 being sick.....
Haribo hope your daughter is feeling better...as a fellow mother of Twins it just feels like you're constantly worried about something - I hope yours grow out of the hospital visits I think being boys made mine worse - one breaks bones (skull, wrist, elbow, ribs, other wrist, foot twice, assorted fingers/toes and hand bones...and no he wasn't a battered child!) the other cuts himself...glass seemed to be his favourite - it didn't matter where that child fell over he ended up with glass in his knee! best one was when he fell out of bed, landed on a lamp and the now broken prongs sliced open the backs of this thighs...the cuts looked like this >>:D:D<< luckily i've always lived near a hospital!
I have nominated today a Day of Lists.... and I will have at least all my lists in place by the end of it....
Have a great day - we have blue skies
hope you do too

Ccccold and showery today, yeugh!!
Following my kiddies D+V at the weekend, there has been 10 -12 % of their school mates out with it this week, so it looks like it was doing the rounds and not anything I fed them LOL. Coincidentally the home next to ours had to close to visitors for a few days also with the same thing.
Plans today - not a lot, the usual clean through, catch up with the ironing, and price up a xmas tree as I was not impressed with the ones I saw last weekend and I am waiting for a delivery from Argos. One of the gifts is a DS for DD with some games that I will get from Ebay later on. She has no clue on this one and hasn't asked for it but I am sure she will love it. Actually I can't wait to see her face when she opens it xmas morning.
Lunch will be some fresh pineapple and melon for me and tea will be a beef curry currently defrosting so just some rice to make later.
Haribo - How awful for Dtwin and yourselves, I hope she continues to improve,
Hugs to you all. xxx
Gentle hugs to Pen-pin and all in need today. xxxx

Good morning all.
Very cold here this morning. I just can't seem to get warm no matter how many layers of clothes I have on. They put electric wall heaters in the lounge and bedroom a month ago but with the high ceilings and whatnot, they just don't seem to get the room warm. Think I'll have to bake later today so it warms up some by the time DH gets home from work. I have a bunch of apples from the tree in the garden that I need to do something with so perhaps muffins, and filling for pies and crumbles which I'll freeze.
The person in the downstairs flat left with no warning to the landlord. Although in many ways it's a relief as the tiniest things were blown out of proportion, it means decorating etc needs to be done down there. I'm grateful to have the work to do as it is taking off more than half of our monthly rent. Yet I am having a terrible time getting motivated to do it.
Motivation or lack of seems to be my middle name these days. I'm sure part of it is how little sunlight we are getting. I'm doing the basics around home and that's about it.
I have a good amount of amazon vouchers to do our Christmas shopping with. I've been saving them up from the survey panels I'm on. Can't seem to get motivated to do that even.
Sorry for the long whinge and moan. Sometimes it just seems too much to keep in.
Sending good thoughts and gentle hugs to all.

Morning everyone.
Thanks again for all the good wishes for DD. It really is very touching. :A
Your boys have had quite a time of it JC. I have one twin who is accident prone and the other tends towards hypochocdria so we're never far from a doctor either.
Thank you for posting on Annie's behalf Mark. Send her our love. x
The patient appeared to be getting better last night but vomited again alot during the night, though no passing out this time. I am currently waiting for the doctor to phone back but it really does look like it's been an awful migraine.
All plans are cancelled for the weekend. OH and I have bowed out of the fundraiser we were going to tonight and the girls won't be going to their grandparents.
OS wise, the house is a tip so I'll be addressing that in between mopping up and I have soup to make for tea. Any spare time will be spent sending work related emails and mending the girls' Christmas stockings.
I have skimmed the thread and my thanks button is kaput but I will go back later to read properly and thank. Apologies if I've missed anything.
Haribo x0 -
Hi everyone,
Haribo, as everyone else has said hope that everything is ok with your family.
jc2703 my son has memorable scars as well, he cut his leg open on the gear cogs of his bike and it looks like he's been clawed by a wild animal. He tells gullible people he was attacked by a lion and they believe him!
OSiness this weekend, stripping and washing the spare bedding. Hopefully having DD, DS and Gf over for a big roast before DD goes away.
It looks like there are a few OS style Chrimbo programmes on - the Victorian Farm is having a special and Kirsty Allsopp is doing a homemade Christmas both of them featuring making things.
Hpe you all have good days.
Sorry, everyone else I forget most of what I've read as soon as I do.0
