Royal Doulton Platinum 5 piece dinner set - £6.99 or 2 for £10

For information - Royal Doulton have confirmed that the 'microwave safe' message on the bottom of each piece is incorrect. They are not microwave safe.
Result! I did not let the matter rest after receiving the original response and have just received a further e-mail from Royal Doulton which includes the following paragraph-
I have good news to share with you as an update on your original inquiry. We have checked with our resources and have received the following information. Although the product gives the visual impression of being a "metallic platinum" decoration it is in fact a printed decoration specially developed to be "microwave safe". You can enjoy your dinnerware without worry.

Couldn't get the Doulton cutlery as we don't have a Robert Dyas near us.
Just bought this from Amazon

I know it won't be as good quality as the Doulton set but I thought it would compliment the plates better than my mismatched cutlery! lolAgeing is a privilege not everyone gets.

Received mine, all in perfect condition. Though, nothing special about them really. I shall have to make sure my guests read the underneath of the plates.. lolCheer up. The worst is yet to come - Mark Twain0

Posted this earlier in the thread...
Dinner plate 10.5 inches/27cm diameter
Side plate just under 8.5 inches/21.5cm diameter
Will go and measure the bowl.
BRB.....
EDIT: Bowl is 22cm diameter but it is quite a shallow bowl.Ageing is a privilege not everyone gets.

If anyone is after a gravy boat, I got this one from an Ebay seller, not a match but not bad....

Dispatch was quite slow though, and communication nil.
It is quite small though, so we will just have on the table for "top ups".
Oh and spoke to Robert Dyas C/S this morning - they are expecting more platters in.Ageing is a privilege not everyone gets.

Just filled it with water to measure for you!
Just under 1/2 pint - so about 250ml.
Like I said I'll use it for "top ups" for the table as we like our gravy too!
There is a label underneath it which says £12 and I think that is about right for Maxwell Williams porcelain.
I did look around a lot in shops but I couldn't find a good match that also had the plate with it (well not one that wasn't ridiculous expensive!).Ageing is a privilege not everyone gets.
