Help needed! Wrong address given!

Hello, hope you wonderful experienced ebayers could help me.

My buyer has basically got the wrong details on both her ebay and paypal account. As a result her item went to the wrong address (1st class recorded). She hasn't been able to trace it as they say its gone back to my address but.........I didn't put a return address on the parcel.

Never had any problems with the postal system before and don't quite no what to do. Who is at fault if the parcel goes AWOL. Should I refund her if I can't retrieve the parcel. Can I claim off the PO?

I feel really annoyed at her tbh, but then if I had put my address on the parcel it would have been returned. Are we both at fault?

Hi, I had the same problem a couple of months ago, I phoned ebay and they said not to refund her as it wasnt my fault.

I contacted the buyer and just told her I would refund her or resend the stuff when it got sent back to me and she didnt contact me after that.

Just make sure you keep all your messages so if she tries to claim through paypal you can show them its not your fault.

Its definately not your fault and I wouldnt refund them but Royal Mail is not at fault either so I dont think you could claim from them.

Thank you vangirl. Just thought of that myself as she was emailing me through my normal email account. I told her it was best to communicate through ebay which she did. Just looked back on my messages where she says that she made a mistake re-not changing her address. So hopefully I will be OK.

My problem is I am selling expensive new items as opposed to unwanted things. So I would have to pay wholesale price plus fees plus postage!!! I will be out of pocket £30 just because she forgot to change the shipping address! So I'm a bit concerned and peed off. Sorry rant over.

Make sure you actually save the emails in your inbox because they will disappear after a set time. I'm not sure how long they'll remain in your inbox but some paypal disputes can go on for a long time.

  • All lost parcels without a return address go to a depot in Ireland. They are openned to look for any details which may help them be returned to the sender.
I lost photos sent recorded to the wrong address by me (I might add) due to grief at the time. They went to Ireland it was openned and returned to me. Must have been a miracle.

Thank you. I didn't know that. Will save them as I feel its going to kick off. :o If it was just second hand things I didn't need anymore I wouldn't care, but I have invested money on my stock, so I'm going stand my ground regards no refund.

I hope they don't open it as its a very stylish item that I'm sure will "disappear". Lol :p

You sent it to the Paypal confirmed address by recored delivery and it got signed for at that address.

    Buyer Loss, Sorry.

I stand my ground solid, when it comes to Paypal/Ebay disputes.
