Have you checked with the person who the parcel is for if they have received it?
I sent something 1st class recorded on 13th October and Post Office website still says it's being processed but when I checked with the recipient they said it turned up 2 days after I posted it!xxx Nikki xxx0 -
Recorded delivery can take a while to show up on the Royal Mail website. It doesn't mean it hasn't arrived (unless you have spoken to the recipient).
After about 3/4 weeks (can't remember the exact length of time) you can claim on the Royal Mail insurance. This is 100 times the value of a standard First Class stamp, so you can claim a maximum of £39 from them.0 -
The buyer emailed me this morning to say its not arrived, i did post it last thing friday so its only really been 4 working days today but im very worried as i didnt get insurance.0

Do you know, and more importantly trust, the person you've sent it to? Not taking insurance on an item of that value was a bit silly which you may end up regretting.0

Recorded is only insured to 100* the value of a first class stamp, so £39. You were taking a very big risk not sending it Special Delivery which would only have cost a few pounds more. ingers crossed it rurns up and you have an honest buyer if it does so.0

sorry but why wouldnt you pay extra for a tracked service for a £200 item?0

As i said in my 1st post this is the 1st time i have ever sent anything other than a letter i thought recored delivery was the safest to use i have only just found out about the insurance part.:o
what i dont get is the parcel was huge! i just dont see how it could get lost at all. whre exatcly do theese pacels get lost I can uderstand small parcels and maby letters but big parcels like this i can only think its been stolen by a worker0 -
Im a postman and if it was sent friday it should be there saturday or monday at the very latest. It may have been lost or miss delivered if the address was incorrect.
Special delivery would have been the way to go0 -

it doubt it would be stolen being so big. Chances are it could also have been damaged did you put a return address on?0 -
I'm surprised that they didn't ask you if the value was over £39, as they do that every single time I post a parcel at the PO.0
