I had to quote this too! We had 3 of ours from kittens and one of them is ridiculously affectionate - he gets under the covers with you and suckles your clothes; the other boy is only affectionate at night (if you go near him in the day he thinks you're gonna bring him inside so he runs off!) and the girl hates being cuddled. Odd!I wish! We've had our cat since he was wee and he was super friendly (and a bit bonkers) until the snip and he's been neurotic ever since - I don't blame him though... He still loves us and tramples across you when you're in bed, but as soon as the doorbell rings he darts out the cat flap and you don't see him again for hours
Haha Poddle, bless him!Our two boy cats are completely different - one is huge and fluffy white and brown, and the other is teeny and shorthair ginger and before they had the snip the small one always used to hump the big one! It was hilarious!
Tete, I'd definitely go for £50 off, then if she says no you can say 'hmm ok, how about I'll settle at £25?' I hope you get it though!Total Debt (Dec 2015) £11,500 : Currently £7,675Lose 21lb : 0/21

hehe yeah Tete will have to get mr moneybags on the case of rent:rotfl:
One of my cats (i say mine, they live at my parents) is extremey affectionate and puts his arms round your neck , just like yours did Tete and he likes to breathe right on your face...not so nice with fish breath. We always think he is just a bit mental because he was it by a car a coupld of years ago.0 -
Just caught up with your diary Tete! Donkeys and cottages, very exciting, have you got piccies!0

Ah Wendz, that's funny you say that because my affectionate cat got hit by a car too, wonder what it does to them?
Hi Swinstie, nice to see you again. Unfortunately the fab house dream is crashing down as we speak. I called the letting agent this morning and explained that we were really looking around the £580 mark and he just said 'make her an offer then' which sounded very positive, so I said '£580, or see what she says', and this is bearing in mind that we'd be guaranteeing her 12 months' rent, and be moving in as the other guy moves out so not a bad deal for her. But he called back a little while ago and said she's not budging because 'it's worth £625'.
So the plan as discussed last night is to not let our hearts rule our heads and say, 'OK that's too much for us, but keep us in mind if you don't find anyone' then keeping an eye on the property and if it looks like no-one moves in in April, phone back. But I think someone will take it to be honest.Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
If they take it they take it, new things come up every day. I saw a nice cottage for rent in Yarm today at £550 and thought of you. You're right not to let your heart rule your head, its a rental at the end of the day, you're never going to see that extra money again, and there is no point being squeezed too tight to pay someone elses morgage.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

its only worth what people will pay so I think your plan sounds perfect!0

The plan sounds good. If you can't afford it then you will only resent it in the long run.You never know the lady may turn around and say yes when you say you can't afford to pay more.0

It's not that we can't afford it really, it's just that it's more than we WANT to pay. I totally agree with you Tinkerbel - something's only worth what people are willing to pay for it, and this is a funny old place. It's a village you wouldn't even know existed unless you lived near it, you wouldn't want to live there with kids as there are no schools, there are no shops or amenities, one bus every two hours I think. It's a bit too expensive for most people renting on their own, or young couples renting whilst saving for a deposit, so it's really only a limited few people who would be interested. If we say we're ready to move in at a moment's notice and will stay for 12 months+, then it might get to the week before the current tenant leaves and she might think losing £30 a month is an OK trade-off for that guarantee of rent and the house not being stood empty. Anyway I'm going to try not to think about the place any more. I was upset yesterday because when I first saw it it was fantastic and felt out of our league, and I thought the cats would be a no-no and then we came so close to it being possible that it was quite disappointing to have it just collapse.
There was a massive accident on the way to work this morning, full police investigation unit and everything and a bicycle on the verge, seems very seriousSo I need to stop my petty whinging!
In money news, I got £5-odd from Quidco yesterday and also put £50 into the MOF as I was feeling a bit flush, so that's gone up a bit. Still have a load of coppers to put into it bt I can't bring myself to bring them all to work to take to the bank - they're so heavy. Off work tomorrow so might get OH to bring them with me. Lots to do today though so getting on with work - I'm only in a day and a half before next Thursday and it's really busyWeightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
oooh wish I could be looking a houses! Its wierd, I always think you girls are loads older than me but you're not not really, I'm nearly 21 (eeek!) its just that you guys have all finished uni and everything and have propper lives, rather than student-dom where we actually do live in hovels! *fingers crossed I'll get a job and be able to get a life too!*
Don't worry about living in hovels. We have all lived in them as students and it is important to experience every stage of life so don't worry about proper jobs and houses etc. It will all come in good time!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947
