I usually aim for 9 hours but have been surviving on about 7 for the last few weeks while I have been nesting and trying to de-clutter!

  • Ah nesting haha, it's such a nice phrase/concept! I was having a read of your diary the other day and you certainly sound organised - it's a good idea, my friend had her baby a month early and they weren't prepared for him at all!

Yeah, I like the phrase too :)

I keep thinking that the baby is going to come early, although I have no reason for this at all, but want to be as organised as possible. If I can just get out at the weekend then I get everything for the hospital bag and be really ready.

What is the weather like with you? We had more snow this morning but I think we are over the worst of it now. (Fingers crossed!)

  • Whereabouts are you CMD? No snow here in the NE though it was forecast on the news this morning. It's really really dark and grim though :( and the office is freezing. I keep meaning to bring my mini hot water bottle in to keep me warm!

Are you getting scared about the birth? I think I would be in your shoes!

    I am in Reading.

Not so scared about the birth since I did the hypnobirthing course before Xmas. It really helps to ease worries and that the more relaxed you are the more your body will work.

I am more terrified about what to do with a baby after the birth. And am dying to know if it is a boy/girl!

  • Haha - good point!! You'll have to come on and post pics once it's arrived, don't care how deep you are in dirty napppies :D

My biggest fear is getting home with a baby and saying, 'Now what?!'! I think I'll be moving my Mum in to teach me what to do with a baby! OH will be next to useless so I can't rely on him! We're not planning any for another 3-4 years but I keep getting broody pangs, which are then replaced by panic pangs that I've only got about 3 years left to learn what to do with baby!

The hypnobirthing course sounds goos, you'll have to let us know if it works!

Tete, I'm loving your plan to be in bed for 9.30! I never get to sleep before 11 now since OH doesn't get home until 10.15 and it takes him a while to 'come down' from work, it's OK for him because he can sleep in until after 9 but I have to drag myself out of bed at 7 (or 20 past giving myself a whole 20 minutes to get ready and out of the door like this morning!) and I'm so tired at the moment because I'm not getting enough sleep!
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

Lol - my Mum is coming over from Ireland for 2 weeks when the baby is born as she knows I don't have a clue apart from changing nappies!

Re: planning for a baby. I waited until I got the real urge and then there was no stopping me. OH wanted to wait until August 2009 but I was like 'no chance buddy, I am 32 now and am going to go for it'!!!
