  • I managed to get thru today without spending :)
I have OH's work Christmas meal to go out to on Saturday, I'm going to see if I can last the week without spending. The only thing I need is paint to finish my friends Christmas present, but I can hold out til then.
    Fingers crossed!!

Just wondering if a weekly ticket may be better value for the bus but even so, you have to get to work don't you? I am probably speaking out of turn here but I would hate to see folk set their bar too high, only to become disheartened in trying to achieve the unachievable :o
Each Challengee has to make their own decision on what is or is not a Spend because we all have differing priorities, so it really doesn't matter how many nsds you are aiming for as long as it means something to you. I just think it's nice if we can make suggestions to help each other, cuz there's plenty on these boards that I wouldn't have ever thought of on my own!

Hello. Yes I have a bus pass but many thanks for your reply. I would be very very poor if I had to pay what my bus company charge to get to work each day. A monthly ticket is much cheaper. I have to get two buses to work and I don't have a bus pass for the second company. I did consider looking into getting one but the company I do have a bus pass for have put more buses on the route Im on :jso most of the time I just wait for one where I can get on free but I have a connection to make so sometimes I pay.

There's a bit just above the top posts on any page but below the main banner heading, & it's the third bit along called "User CP" that gives you access to siggies & stuff.

Hi BMF (can I call you that?)
Thank you - will find the signature bit and put something together.

Re triggers for spending - boredom, boredom and more boredom - that's my biggest trigger. Once I find something to occupy my mind I'm fine. Just started a new-ish job so I'm hoping that, plus you lovely people on here, will give me the kick up the **** I need. And I'm very competitive and hate failing at anything, so hopefully that will spur me on as well. If I feel like going out and spending money I shouldn't, I'll come on here and rely on you to tell me off. Fingers crossed I'll get there.

Anyway, I've managed another NSD today, so that's 2 so far :j:j:j and hoping for another one tomorrow.:D:D

Well done to everyone else who's managed an NSD today and hugs to those who haven't - there's always tomorrow!
:) The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time :)

Me too starnac, I ended up spending something every day last week and usually more than I needed to. I got most of my xmas shopping done though so it's not all bad. I just need to get chocs and cards now and then I'm done.

I'm hoping tomorrow should be a no spend day as I'm planning to stay in doing housework and putting up my xmas tree. I'll need to resist the temptation to get chocolate to eat when x factor is on though! Wish me luck!

Will have a NSD today as not planning on going out anywhere - couldn't face the shops anyway as they are soooooo busy.

OH invited his son & girlfriend for tea tonight  but rather pleased with myself as can feed them 3 courses from what is in the house apart from 2 red peppers and some cream bought yesterday.

HM lentil soup cooking and loaf in the breadmaker, sirloin steaks from the freezer, roast tatties and roast veggies, all already in the cuoboards. Summer pudding for dessert, fruits from the freezer, just need to set the table :j
Shouldn't have to spend for the next couple of days - hopefully.
