  • I managed my 7 in November. I think I'll up it to eight this month. Days off at Christmas should encourage me to lie low and avoid unnecessary expenditure.

This is a great challenge because it really does make you think before spending.
  • £35 spent yesterday on groceries and today should be my first NSD of december as im at home all day!

    Hi all:j
    ..........
However, a quick question - as I'm also a member of the PAD challenge - payment a day - do these 2 challenges cancel each other out lol??? Or do I discount any spending on BILLS......TIA.:D
    ........
Hiya :santa2: My own personal take on this kind of thing is:-
If I have to pay for a prescription/ essential bill/ emergency dentist/ emergency vet/ getting to work etc etc etc AND I SPEND NOTHING ELSE THAT DAY, then I've had an NSD.
If tho I:- forgot to get petrol whilst at the supermarket yesterday/ bought a magazine waiting for the bus/ pack of gum while collecting prescription/ new toothbrush at the dentist etc, then that's a spend.
This is how I do it, but the choice is entirely personal. I figure you can't factor every single penny into a planned spend but if you can do as much as is humanly possible, there just may be a few more left for those times when they can't. HTH.x

Today I have taken my dog, Phoebe, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, to the groomers for a wash and haircut, this is essential for a healthy coat, and tomorrow she is having her annual booster which is essential to her health and well being. So I am declaring today my first NSD. :j

Whoo-hoo! We've soooo become the Challenge to join that I've had to jiggle the first two posts to fit everyone in...what a lovely mess to be in :j & it means we should have room for a good few more party-smiley-052.gifLuvver-lee jubber-lee!
BUT! Given the state of my limited poota skills & still-poorly status, I'd very much appreciate you having a little look-see to make sure I've not forced you into a catagory you're not happy with. I'm sorry to be a pain yet again, but hopefully now it will mean The List will not have to be edited as often as it was, due to there being too many characters in the post when I hit 'submit' :o Fan-cue :D

Thanks for the thread BMF, you're a star! So here I go with my first month on this challenge - today is definitely a NSD so that's 1/31 so far :D My target is 20/31 and should be do-able as christmas shopping is done, and I have enough food in except for dairy/fresh.
    good luck everyone! 36_15_2.gif
... don't throw the string away. You always need string! :D

  • Wow! This thread is really popular this month!

BigMummaF - with you having to jiggle the first two posts to fit everyone in, my user name has come out a bit skewiff on The List - it is reading Chris.18, but should be chris81418 - would most appreciate it if you could show off your poota skills and edit it - thanks!

Good luck for December everyone! :xmassmile

Gah! Day one & I need to spend already!!
Dog needs some food, but I can get that tomorrow, and we're off food shopping tonight. Both of these I don't count as they are budgeted for, as long as I don't sneak anything naughty into the trolley. :p
I need to get my bro his Christmas present, but I'm going to cheat & save it up and get it on a day when I can lump all my unnecessary spending together. Wednesday will be good, as I've been invited out for birthday drinks with my friend (her b-day, not mine) so will have to spend then (got to buy her at least one drink I suppose:p)
