Hi
Well I haven't been shopping yet so things may change but this is so far
Mon Cauliflower cheese and jacket potatoes
Tues Shepherds pie, veg and gravy
Wed Soup and bread and then apple crumble and custard
Thurs Toad in the hole, veg and gravy
Fri Turkey escalope and roasted carrots, parsnips and poataoes
Sat Sausage, egg and baked beans
Sun Pork chop, stuffing, roasties, veg and gravy
I been told to eat sensibly because I have high cholestorol so there are now to be no cakes, and puds are fruit or very low fat yoghurt. All meals grilled or all fat drained etc. Less meat and more veg. I know I probably should eat less meat but baby steps.
Porridge, weetabix or shredded wheat for breakfast (I can have toast but I am avoiding butter and jam. Lunch will be leftovers or sandwiches (with no spread) with salad and tuna etc
Anyway bye for now

Well, here we are again folks...
It's my Xmas doooo tonight so just have DS to cater for, he'd like a take-away I'm sure but have just had a look on Morrisons' website & they have a Chicken Tikka Masala on at half price; hope that will be a good substitute. I also have a few ready meals that I picked up from the Co-op at bargain prices so these will be eaten this week too....
Saturday – Out – Chicken Tikka Masala for DS
Sunday – Chicken Dinner - roasties, mash, cabbage, carrots, bread sauce & gravy
Monday – Lasagne or Shepherd’s Pie (co-op ready meals), with baked spuds & beans
Tuesday – Arroz con Pollo (Chicken & Rice) from Gastronomy Economy cookbook
Wednesday – Fish, chippy chips & mushy peas
Thursday – Salmon & Broccoli pasta bake
Friday – HM soup (not sure what yet - will see what needs using up) & pizza
Have a good week all x0 -
CCP - that sounds really nice, any chance of the recipe?
As is so often the case with me, there isn't a recipe - I got two packs of boursin on special offer a few weeks ago and I'm trying to think of ways to use it before it goes off.
What I'm planning on doing is cooking the turkey and bacon together, then making a quick white sauce (sprinkle flour over the meat, then add milk until it turns into a sauce), then just adding chunks of boursin until it reaches the right flavour/consistency. I've got some puff pastry in the freezer to do the lid. Simples! (I hope!
) Back after a very long break!0 -

Understand - thanks, CCP! Let me know how it turns out, and I'll do a variation on that theme. I also have a pack of Boursin in the fridge that DH bought a while ago and then never touched it. My Mum used to mix Boursin with cream to make a sauce - delicious, especially with fondue (or just crisps), but soooooo fattening! I sometimes mix some of it with mushrooms and stuff it into a trout. But that doesn't get rid of a whole pack."Remember that many of the things you have now you could once only dream of" - Epicurus0 -
