Just to update, in case any of you are watching this auction as well...

I e-mailed the seller yesterday about paying with a cheque because my paypal account is still showing a negative balance. it turned out that her mailing address is a 15-minute walk from my house! what are the chances? we met halfway this morning and I paid cash for the card.

Now this is the best part.

I went to a Carphone Warehouse (the Holborn branch), and I am now a proud owner of a brand new LG Chocolate phone... and it's gorgeous!

I showed them the card. They took 25% off. (It was a pay-as-you-go phone, btw.) No questions asked. No ID necessary (though I had written my name on the back and brought my passport just in case).

Now, does anyone know how to unlock these phones?

More of an amazing coincidence is that I notice in OP's previous posts http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=2306765#post2306765 mentions OH works for HRC and the seller of this item has sold some HRC goods recently .. example
