Thanks savingwannabe. Hope you are well. Have the building work at home started yet? Have you managed to go out and not paid for everyones' meals yet?

I am fine apart from my foot who is playing up again. On Tuesday I went to see the osteopath who said that the foot is still swollen eventhough I couldn't really see anything, he also said that I have fluid in my foot and that the ligaments can take ages to heal. Afterwards I felt so much better in my foot. In the gym I now go swimming rather than going to the gym so that I don't put too much pressure on the foot. Today I will be preparing for an interview that i have on Tuesday. Fingers crossed, it would be so great to have a permanent job so that I can feel a bit more secure financially. Got paid this week and for the first time in ages I will be able to save more than the usual £10 that I normally save.

Home grown strawberries are lovely. Hopefully soon we start to eat our potatoes. Do you grow anything at home?

Enjoy your Sunday and good luck with saving money.

Hi Becky and SavingWannabee, great to hear from you.

I am going into work late this morning so thought I would update quickly.

In regards to veg, we do quite a lot .. here goes .. potatos, spring onion, tomatos, courgettes, sweetcorn, carrotts, parsnips, various herbs, peppers, strawberries, chillis and finally red onions. We have two veg patches in our garden and we love them. Some years we have a fantastic crop and other years, thing go a bit wrong but we love doing it. At the moment, we are eating our spring onions and we get about four strawberries a day. Nothing else in ready yet.

Hey Becky, good luck with the job interview tomorrow - fingers crossed - it's so difficult out there at the moment - where I work there have been quite a few people made redundant but hopefully my job is pretty safe. It's really good that you've got an interview - it just goes to show that there are jobs out there. Brilliant if you can save more than £10. We are still waiting to hear at our work if we get a bonus - fingers crossed we do, I'll be grateful for anything - hopefully if I do, I nearly have reached by £3,500 target for the year!

In relation to my savings, things are going quite well but unfortunately by food bill seems to getting worse .... Really need to cut down on this asap -we do like our treats though and that is the problem!!

Anyway update soon ladies. We are off on Saturday for a cheap week to Spain - so will update when I get back.

    Good luck with your savings...

    Hi Emma & Savingwannabe,

Good to hear from you both. Two exciting things are happening. Emma is off to Spain and Savingwannabe is starting work on her bungalow next week. Emma - Enjoy! Savingwannabe - hope it all goes smoothly and that you will be happy with it in the end.

I went for my interview today, I shall find out on Friday. It would be so great to have a permanent job again. The job market is so tough at the moment. Emma - hope you get your bonus, however small it is, it will be money you wouldn't have had anyway.

    Good luck with saving.

I got the job. Hurray! I cannot tell you how happy I am. It is such a relief to soon have a steady income so that I can plan more for the future. For the last year I have worked as a temp, not a bad experience but you live month by month. Once I start in this job I will start to be more organised with my money and also set up a standing order every month to my savings account. Planning on setting aside £110 a month towards gas/electricity/water bill and my quarterly haircut as well.

Emma-hope you are having a lovely time in Spain. Enjoy the tapas. Have you heard anything about your bonus yet?

Savingwannabe - how is going with the work at home?

I shall now relax for the rest of the day after having cleaned the house this morning.

    Have a lovely weekend.

Hi Becky, that's great news about the job - congratulations - you deserve it. When do you start? It will be so much better having a regular income - you'll be able to start saving.

My holiday was great thanks very much - really really warm - have started to peel today though .... :(

Yes, heard about my bonus - and I'm really pleased. We get it at the end of July (so in a couple of weeks) and am planning on saving nearly all of it - which means that I will reach my £3,500 target by the end of August (instead of December so am really pleased). I know I could probably go and book a holiday with it or something or buy some nice shoes, clothes etc but I am being sensible and saving most of it (although I do have some beauty treatments booked for this weekend as a treat!!).

Anyway, let me know how you get on with your job ... good luck if you are starting soon.

    Love E x

    Hi Emma,

Good to hear that you had a good holiday. Congratulatations to your bonus and for reaching your saving target in August rather than December. Are you still planning on continuing to save?

I started my new job last week and so far so good. I just feel really tired as you do when you start a new job. There is so much to learn and to remember. It looks like I will get 8 weeks pay in August, as a temp I get paid in arrears and as a permanent I get paid in advance. If that happens I will be saving half of that salary, which would be fantastic.

Where are everyone else? Hope you are all doing really well with saving money.

All the best Emma and hope you enjoyed you beauty treatment. I have booked a massage for next week, this is a freebie which makes it feel even better.

Becky congrats on the job. Wonderful news!!!

Emma tell us about the beauty treatments. I haven't even done a facemask in ages. might do one now. I am on another site. I moved with Mr Nid and Mouseann's Thread but i do come back here to check up on my friends as i have subscribed with quite a few eg worried Jim, firewalker, williamg 1664 and yourselves.

If you want to see the new site. click on Nid's name in Mouseann's thread and you will get there. I am the barmaid in the insolvency inn it seems!!!

The builders were stopping all the agreed work and i think were going to mess me around. I got scared. Dad went to their head office and talked to them. They only listen to men! now it looks back on track but i am a bit scared as i am not assertive. If dad wasn't around i do not know what i would do!!!!

I will move back on the 20th. A week later than expected but it is ok i think.

I am at Janet's house. She is in Thailand on hols. Everyone is escaping it seems!!!!

Have a good day. will be back girls!!!
