we had Stand by me, by Ben E King. Love love love it!
Lyndasharps wedding music sounds cracking to me!0 -
Does anyone know a website or anything that lists popular music for weddings? I am putting together music for different parts of the day and we have our own favourites of course, but I need more inspiration and ideas so there is something everyone will enjoy! My OH likes glam rock and power ballads, I like swing, 80s, light jazz.....neither of us knows much about current stuff and I don't want younger guests to be bored!
any suggestions gratefully received
thanks. I only have until March - so much still to do!!0 -
My OH and I have got so many meaningful songs that we are really going to struggle to choose a first dance song. Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol was our song before it became absolutely massive, we were going to have that but it's popularity has put me off a bit.
I wouldn't choose any off that list though. Think happy & you'll be happy
I :heart2: my doggies

Oh thats our song too, we split for a while and communicated by twitter (how sad) and we used to 'blip' songs, this being our favourite, so its our first song!

Of that list, I'm surprised Rule The World by Take That isn't on there - I worked in a hotel that did a lot of weddings last summer and I swear that was played for every other first dance!
If I ever get married I think we'll have the Smash Mouth version of I'm A Believer (the one on the end of the first Shrek film), as we both love it.
We are walking out to that!:rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:0 -

Glam rock, go for The Darkness
80's, well you will like La Roux
Power ballads, any of the warblers around now, Alex Burke, Leona Lewis
Swing, How about Micheal Buble (he is lush!!)
Keeps on the themes you like but updated. Throw some Kylie 'Spinning around', King of Leon, Sex on Fire (thats for the blokes who won't dance but want to look 'manly' LOL) Toward the end, then defo some New York, New York/My Way and Tiger Feet!!
ETA: I found this list and thought it looked good!

Our first dance will be 'Grow Old with you' by Adam Sandler from The Wedding Singer:
I wanna make you smile whenever you're sad
Carry you around when your arthritis is bad
Oh all I wanna do is grow old with you
I'll get your medicine when your tummy aches
Build you a fire if the furnace breaks
Oh it could be so nice, growing old with you
I'll miss you
Kiss you
Give you my coat when you are cold
Need you
Feed you
Even let ya hold the remote control
So let me do the dishes in our kitchen sink
Put you to bed when you've had too much to drink
I could be the man who grows old with you
I wanna grow old with you0 -
