When are you having this played? I love this song but think OH would kill me if i chose it, lol

I'm walking down the isle to it (We've only just begun)
My excuse is that i adore the carpenters tho its not just the sentiment of the song

Were taking a different tact on the asking guest to suggest songs for the disco. Were having a band play instead of a DJ but the whole day will be filled with music as it plays a huge part in both our lives.
We will be putting together background music for pre / post cemermony and during the meal it will be songs that mean things to me and my OH or bring back memories or were our fav songs over the years. So were going to ask the guests to suggest songs that they associate with us or brings back memories for them about us etc and include them on the background music.
It will be a really eclectic selection of songs tho, there will be things ranging from Sinittas so macho, Depeche mode's blasphemous rumours, Cobwebs & strange byt the who. Not sure if i can get away with including the bartman tho!
  • Our last song was New York New York. Cheesy it was but we were going to NYC for our honeymoon and our theme was Tiffany Blue and NYC buildings were our table names!

It's not a proper wedding if it doesn't end with everyone in a circle high kicking along to New York New York!

Of that list, I'm surprised Rule The World by Take That isn't on there - I worked in a hotel that did a lot of weddings last summer and I swear that was played for every other first dance!

If I ever get married I think we'll have the Smash Mouth version of I'm A Believer (the one on the end of the first Shrek film), as we both love it.

Married my best friend 1st November 2014
Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")
Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")
  • We are planning to have Shine by Take That as our first dance. Its not a particularly weddingy song or anything, but the words mean a lot to us, and are apt to the situation I was in when I met my H2B.

As for the rest of the music, I have no idea!! We have a long list of songs we dont want though!:rotfl:

ps My H2B wanted a song called Crazy B$tch by Buckcherry as our first dance, but I think my mum would have heart failure - the lyrics are not exactly 'family-friendly'!!

Maybe because most people have terrible taste in music.

Maybe, but at least everyone will have the chance to listen to something they enjoy

Yeah, but it's your wedding. Each to their own, innit.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Our song was (and still is) I love you just the way you are sung by Barry White

We spent ages choosing a song because ven after 14 years together we didn't have a song..and in the end choose this. Once i heard it the first time thought it was perfect

Nice in principle, I just think the 'I don't want clever conversation,
I never want to work that hard.
I just want someone that I can talk to,
I want you just the way you are.' bit is a bit insulting!!

Nothing off tht list will be played at my wedding either - our first dance will be to It Must Be Love by Madness. We've got a ska band playing so will have ska and reggae music all night!

I think I might try to gatecrash, sounds great:D
