This one really makes me wonder - have they actually listened to the lyrics at all, or did they just hear the chorus and think "aww, what a lovely song". Probably the least appropriate song for a wedding ever.

We had Lonestar - Amazed as it meant something to us, when we were dating hubby had a power ballads CD in the car and he used to listen to the CD and specifically that track when he drove home from my house.

I had Phil Collins - Groovy Kind Of Love as a father/daughter dance

Maybe not particularly "weddingy" but I like Kings of Leon, Use Somebody. Definately wouldnt want anything cheezy.

I've always thought this song was about prostitution.

I think many people will not have a 'special song' - or maybe like us, the tracks that they like contain 'dodgy' lyrics for a wedding :)
We're getting round that by trying to find instrumental covers of the tracks we like for during the meal.

We have only one track set in stone - In My Life by the Beatles as one track whilst we sign the register. We like the track and the lyrics are perfect for us as we have both lived 'other lives' ;)

We're going for a traditional waltz I think, we (especially OH) much prefer a dance that we can have lessons for and that has no pesky lyrics to mess up the ambience.

We had a 6 minute long sway, during which we sang the words of our first song at the top of our voices to each other, to Patience by G'n'R.
Everyone commented on how unusual and wonderful it was.
Not being one for typical songs however, I walked into to the registry office to Winter on Watership Down, Music during photos was Adagio for Strings and we walked out to theme tune to Pirates of the caribbean.
