I go out and vote because people like my parents and grandparents died to defend the democracy we have, but in all honesty, I'm not sure that they would think much of what it's worth now. Maybe it was no better then and we just know more than they could glean from the media of their times.

Either way, I'm quite glad I've moved to another Lib-Dem stronghold. Liked Chris Patten though; nice bloke.

Could we have a re-run of this poll including Lib Dems (or even minority parties, too)?

I think the result would be much less clear cut.

Right now, Lib Dems seem to be the only one of the major parties with a clue. And Vince.

Always either voted Labour or abstained in the past but going to be voting tory this time. I think I've just grown up. All I expect is competence. If I get honesty and integrity on top of that I'll consider it a fantastic bonus.
    cecil parkinson and/or heseltine (westland)
    jonathan aitken (perjury)
    jeffrey archer (pretty much everything)
    the hamiltons (everything else)

with that heritage "honesty" and "integrity" are looking out of the questions and to be honest I question your assertion that the tories are competent (black monday, miners strike, poll tax, NHS deprivation, education, social division, immigration).

the only thing they are good at is saying nothing and hoping (fingers crossed) that the public keep sticking it to labour

Can't answer third option not there!

Nobody! Its all what can we do that looks great in the shortest period of time, nobody is looking at the long term economy of the country.

On balance, I suspect the Tories are worse than Labour in almost every conceivable area.

On the other hand, Labour are pretty bad.

Not sure about Lib-dems Carol..........Vince would get my vote if he stood as an independant.:D..

Lib-dems are far too pro EU for me...Given the fact that only 34.7% of UK voters bothered to vote last time says it all for me...

Vincey Rocks......;)..Safer pair of hands you wouldnt find anywhere.. Personally I'm veering towards the "Keep Britain Tidy Party" as they seem to have a clear agenda...

I was amazed to find out I was on the electoral register and had no bliddy idea how I had gotten there.

Turns out DD had filled the form in, she feels it is her civic duty to vote.

I did point out it is actually my vote, not hers. She remains unconvinced by my logic.

So in the interests of accuracy I have not voted in this poll as the brat has not come to a final decision as to who we want elected yet.
