How long were they in the ground for? I've heard of radishes being eaten but you'd have to be pretty unlucky not to get some roots from them. They grow ridiculously quickly, usually.
I pulled one up after about 4 weeks and nothing so left the rest until the leaves had grown so much they were wilting and yellowing and still nothing0 -
my oh sowed the whole packet of radish seed in one go - its all come up and OMG theres hundreds of the little !!!!!!s!!!! I love radish in salads but only one or two at a time as they give me heartburn. no-one else seems to like them and I have absolutely no idea what else I could do with them.
do they freeze?
can I cook them?
make a pickle or relish with them?
hhhhheeeeelp - they will have to be picked by the weekend or will be inedible.0 -
Fried gently in unsalted butter they make a delicious starter and may not give you hearburn like they do raw.0

I'm going to chop mine up and freeze, I'll be adding them to stews etc to bulk up a bit. I left my seeds out and it rained so I had to sow everything at the same time too!0

I really like the idea of stir frying radishes (not keen on them raw.....) but has anyone frozen them and then fried them?0

I have had a similar issue growing my own, and even tried roasting them which worked suprisingly well! I love them in stir-fries and coleslaw too, try blanching them for 30seconds to take the edge off if they give you heartburn.
I would have thought they would freeze ok but may loose some flavour and go soggy, so it depends if your recipe needs them to be crunchy or not.0 -
This is absolutely delicious - it's supposed to go with meat/fish/cheese but I think it is lush with almost anything, including spread on bread!
