Hey
Tip for storing - keep them in the fridge, and take the leaves off - the leaves take water from the roots if you leave them on, and cause the radishes to shrivel up / go off quicker.......
As for serving them, as they've got quite a distinctive peppery taste, I think they're just nice in a salad, maybe try sliced up with some broad beans?

Don't usually buy these as only DH likes them. Have about 8 in the fridge that will need using soon but DH is fed up of them now. Can I freeze them to use in some vegetable stock? Or has anyone any other ideas how to use them up "in disguise" ?People Say that life's the thing - but I prefer reading

You can chop a radish up finely and add it to a tin of tuna for a sandwich filling with a difference.
You can roast them in the oven with some parsnip and carrot for a side vegetable dish with the sunday roast.
It goes really well with fresh mint for a side salad dishI am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Hi taurusgb,
There's an older thread with some ideas for using radishes that might help so I've merged your thread with it to keep all the suggestions together.

Hi COOLTRIKERCHICK,
I'm in the same position with far too many radishes all ready at the same time so I was looking on google earlier and there are lots of links to radish recipes. I'm going to try roast radishes with soy and sesame or the sauteed radishes tomorrow.
This earlier thread might give you some ideas too:
Radishes!
I'll add this thread to that one tomorrow to keep the suggestions together.

my radishes didn't come to anything. their roots had turned pink, but were just a root, they hadn't formed the usual radish 'bulb' shape0

How long were they in the ground for? I've heard of radishes being eaten but you'd have to be pretty unlucky not to get some roots from them. They grow ridiculously quickly, usually.0 -
Cut the leaves off but leave a little bit of green stalk at the top. Wash and (depending on size) cut lengthwise into halves or quarters.
Heat some unsalted butter in a frying pan. When bubbling, add radishes. Cook, stirring constantly, for a few minutes to soften (the butter will turn pink). Squeeze in the juice of half a lemon, stir, then serve with brown bread and butter.0
