If I remember correctly you can't use a URL as your name.

Wow...Nick, you complained and I was removed within seconds, no option but to re-register.

A bit harsh.. I must have missed the bit about URL's...Given the chance I would have immediately changed my ID...banning me instantly was way too harsh for a site that campaigns for fairness.

Afterall most of the reasons we are here asking questions or complaining is that we missed the small print and felt we've been miss treated or are looking for the best deal.

Sorry if it seems harsh, However when registering for the site you would notice this in bold on the signup page: "Do NOT use your email address or website url as your username."

    Anyways, Back on topic:

    Motor Vehicles first used:

    before April 1985
    Windscreen 70%
    Front side windows 70%

    After April 1985
    Windscreen 70%
    Front side windows 75%

That is the amount of light that must be able to get through.

There is no tint limit after the B Pillar

They are the legal tint levels, Unless they are out of date from where i got them from lol

Dont forget if you have had your windows tinted YOU MUST inform your insurance company as it is classed as a MODIFICATION!!!

Your insurance could be invalid if you do not inform them...

    Just a thought

Almost right, it's 75% for the windscreen and 70% for the sides.

Most newer cars with tinted windows are almost on the limit allowed.

Yup, the law is an !!! in that respect. You can wear as dark a set of sunglasses as you want with impunity. The thing is, you can always take dark glasses off, taking your windows out is a bit trickier

The law isn't solely concerned with the driver's visibility but also the visibility of the driver to other people, i.e. the police. It is hard to ID someone with tinted side windows and of course makes it more difficult to spot people using mobiles.

So in that case how come window tints predate phone offences?

OK, but thank you for your less than useful comment. I am only having the rear doors and window tinted because I believe it is added security, but thankfully I don't have an obsession with making derogatory comments about subjects that don't interest me.
