How long has your Passport renewal taken

Applied for my sons Passport renewal last week and took a chance on check and send as the other options are verry pricey, but as our trip to Disneyland Paris this week draws nearer having a bit of a panic. When we applied for our Daughters a couple of years ago it took less than a week. Emailed the IPS to track it and are no wiser. All they seem interested in is you paying an extra £50 to say they will get it to you in a week or £60 on the day.
Any info on how long others have taken would be appreciated.

If you are due to travel this week then I should take advice directly from the Passport Office; information regarding how long anyone else's renewal has taken is not really going to help is it?0

mine took about 3 weeks to renew back in spetember and that included me having to send in a new set of pictures due to them rejecting the original ones.0

My last renewal took 7 days total. I used the post office check and send service which saves a ton of grief with rejected photos and misfilled forms.
If it comes to it, and you don't have the passport within two days of travel, you should consider going to the passport office and doing it on the day service.0 -
I sent mine in last Monday by regular First Class post and the new one arrived this morning. I have no foreign travel planned until next year so was not in a hurry for the replacement and didn't bother with the Check & Send service. This space has been intentionally left blank0

About 10 days (no check & send)0

I posted a few days ago as we travel in 2 weeks, and hadn't renewed the passports. I did lots of research and the average time was 2 weeks for a return on check and send, so I paid the extra and got the one week service.
If I was you I would pay the extra and get it sorted ASAP£100 - £10,0000 -
Phoned up again today, for some reason it went to Glasgow and is now being transported to Newport to be processed so no chance through normal method. Have got to phone after 2pm tomorrow to see if they will upgrade it. I know its my own fault for not doing the one day service but adding the extra £60 plus a 200 mile trip plus time off work to get down there I was hoping for a miricle I suppose. I must say they were not very helpfull on the phone just kept telling me I should have gone down. I know that now don't I.0

Or applied for it earlier.0

My passports arrived earlier today, but I did the express service it only took them 2 days, I hope you do manage to get it upgraded, at least then you dont have to worry. When do you travel? you might be best doing the same day service if you can its only about a tenner more, thats if your traveling really soon x£100 - £10,0000
