I am in the same position, used the 4508 card everywhere but with Tesco, shopped then got the phonecall to say problem with card... It must be Tescos problem as we did a bit of xmas shopping online through Amazon, Play and Ebay (Paypal) with no problems whatsoever... we even put in Visa (not electron)...

Very annoying as I then had to do the whole online shop again with Asda, but was very pleased to say it was cheaper and I got more shopping! Think I'll stick with Asda for now and see what Tescos next move is... might ring coop when I get a minute and ask them again, hope I get a nicer person than Madmonk! Your right they are usually very pleasant!

Yes, it is Tesco Online issue - I can use my card everywhere (including at Tesco stores) apart from Tesco online.

By the way - Asda is causing other problems so watch out there.

What they do, they "reserve" the aount due for your shopping at the time of you placing your order then when they deliver they take the due amont from your account but the "reserved" amount still shows as "pending" till it drops out a few days later so in effect you have no access to your own money.

And it is regardless of what card you use, google it and you will see people complaining.

I'm still confused how Tesco seems to be accepting some cashminder debit cards (4508) but not others whats the difference?

Tesco accepts them all in stores but not online.

I would like to know if the OP has actually got his shopping delivered..

They accepted my card at tesco.com so I thought it had gone through,5 days later when my shopping was due to be delivered I got the call to say there was a problem with payment, everyone i know on here has the same problem.
No problem I just use my cashplus card thats accepted everywhere..
ps i have shopped at tesco.com for 6 years.

Hi can we have some clarification here - who if anyone has managed to get their grocery shopping on-line at Tesco, and if so did you have a cashminder debit card starting 4508?:p

Not me, my card does everything the OP says it does, but it is still an Electron card in reality. It won't do Tesco online or any Pay at the Pump, whether it is Asda, Morrison or Tesco

I suspect that when the OP tries his card in one of these places he will find he has the standard cashminder Electron sometime pretending to be a Visa Apart from that though, I only have good things to say about Co-op

All Cashminder debit cards start with 4508 I believe.

I suggest you and other people open a Barclays Cash Card Account, just for shopping for Tesco and other places that have this kind of situation.
