    Wickes internal door £23
which leaves £37 for Handle/hinges/ framing

After all this jenner will be very disappointed if you don't D.I.Y.

but i thought you could only cut doors down a few cm?? I would have to cut over 20cm off?

plus it means that i couldnt have the shape i wanted, we have 4 panelled doors, i would be cutting a lot of the top panels off

It depends on the doors, a lot of the cheap lightweight doors are hollow,
basically a frame ( covered) cutting one of those and then re fixing the bottom and top rails is not on. But 10 cms from top and 10 cms bottom in a solid door might work. But you did not mention before that a four panel door was required?

    Something like this :

Have hidden the right hand wall just to make it easier to visualise.
Plasterboard above door..plasterboard side. Finish off with an architrave around the edge.

Door..either mdf or salvaged 2nd hand internal door modified to fit.

Brilliant, that's the door In the Wickes Direct catalogue.

Imagine losing the top two small panels .

sorry, yes, when i saw that i could get that door online and it matches the hallway doors i have now decided that i want that. although i have thought that if it was a piece of flat wood, i could buy beading and stick that on to make it look like our hallway doors (sort of)

i like that idea, then its a proper door and 50 quid cheaper too.

andy's diagram is great, he only has to add in about 50 pairs of shoes and loads of dog fur balls and its my hallway!

    Ormus!!! :T:D

My old internal doors are basically two sheets stuck to a frame with some carboard type material inside ...cut the door to size remove frame from cut off bit refit to form new edge. The door is plain so no panelled bits to complicate.

Mrs B gonna get annoyed if i rip off the bathroom door and dont replace though! :rotfl:
