I've got an email addy that is not with Hotmail, but my daughter has started a new Hotmail account, when she tries to sign in now to her hotmail account she is getting an error message in a box saying

Type your .NET Passport sign-in e-mail address and password correctly. Remember, passwords are case-sensitive.

If you still can’t sign in:

• Register with .NET Passport, if you haven't already.
• Create a new password, if you can't remember it.

but it is definitely the correct password etc
and she can't follow the create new password link either as that wont work when she tries to use UK as country

HELP please
tried setting up another account but same thing happening

Sounds like you are already signed in with a different Passport account somewhere. MSN Messenger perhaps? Or something else that signs you in automatically.

Go to MSN page and ensure that you SIGN OUT from Passport, rather than just closing the browser page.

I had the same problem Glad. Just couldn't use Hotmail at all (not that I'd use it much anyway - I prefer Yahoo ;) )

But I needed hotmail once and a friend opened an account for me, sent me my new 'name' and password, and mailed me with it. Then I followed the link in the mail.

Only way I could ever use it ???
