  • If you can ignore the ferry both ways you can book a cheap channel crossing on eurotunnel if you drive AND return within two (calendar) days. It's 22-28 pounds each way - so up to £56 for the crossing.

Say drive out Saturday, stay in a cheap hotel chain near DLP that night, spend a day at the park Sunday and head back that night. Of course this assumes that there is no direct link between ferry and park tickets.

Personally I would never stay in a Disney park hotel. I think it is much more cost effective to stay outside (we used a Novotel - 15-20 mins drive away). With small kids you do have the benefit of a refuge from the crowds- but the hotels are not all that close to the parks.

We we we did Disneyland Paris we bought a package of day tickets - and allowed for "rest days" between days at the park. That way the days we had were solid from just after opening until tired out!

If you stay on site I think you, Get in half an hour early, You might see Mickey Mouse for breakfast, And you do have a themed experience.

It's likely to be much cheaper to stay overnight at a nearby hotel and simply buy a one-way ticket back for the ferry from Calais to Dover separately for the following day. For example, book early and you can get a single ferry crossing from Calais to Dover for around £25 from P&O.

worth confirming that P&O won't charge you any extra to your card if you don't turn up for the original crossing back on the same day. It's likely they would as the terms say "If you fail to travel on one part of your booking we may charge a supplement"

I did the Leger trip last year offered through the Sun and booked a separate return ferry direct with P&O and they were fine - I think they might get a bit more difficult if you returned with another carrier though.

I wonder whether Leger will allow you to travel out at, say, 8pm on the Friday evening and have the Disneyland day ticket for the Saturday, with your return ferry for Saturday evening at 7.30pm? The ferry trip would still be within a 24hr period.

This way you could book at a local Formule 1/Etap for the Friday night and have the full day on park the next day.

Of course, if you wanted to stay for longer, then you would stay more nights in the motel and book a single return ferry trip back. I'd be interested to see if P&O would charge your credit card any more for this?

We have been 5 times since it opened. so here are a few tips on costs if you haven't been
Seems cheap, having been there before it won't be as cheap as you think, with the exchange rate poor, doubly worse £100 gets you 107.44 euros. The journey each way will take at least a day, so have booked a hotel for 2 nights so we get a full day there.
My costings assume that you may be able to extend the travel times as it might be limited to 24hours which in my view is not really possible as it is a 10hr round trip from Dover

I live in Hampshire so it is a 670 mile round trip, so fuel alone will be £70
    Tolls - 40 euros - £38
(AA european cover - £30 for 3 days cover, I have a company car so don't have a choice, company rules)
Parking for the day will be 10 euro's - £9.31 at todays exchange rate
The supplement for half term is £10
I have a 13 year old so it will be an extra £26
Cheap hotel will cost £45 a night (we stayed at premier class - bussy st georges - www.campanile.com
Lunch - Food at disney will set you back £30-35 for a budget burger meal for four (The adult menu at 10.95 euros includes ,1 main course, 1 side order, 1 dessert & 1 soft drink (40cl) , The kids menu at 4.95 euros includes a choice of 1 main course, 1 side order, 1 dessert & 1 soft drink (25cl).
evening meal - Annettes burger bar will cost £60 for a family of 4.
odd snack/drinks - take your own but carrying loads will wear you down as you will be wearing coats which will be of and on all the time.
Or find a Mcdonalds, but unless you know where one is or have a sat nav you will be so hungry ad want to eat at the easiest place.

Total cost for a for us to do the £70 offer will be around £440 + about £40 for the cost of food travelling to and from the Hotel.

If you want to do Disney I suggest yo do a minimum of 2-3 days in the parks as you will have spent alot of money on travel and time getting there.

Disney currently do an offer of kids under 12 go free and book by 15th December and get 2 FREE meal vouchers per person and per night booked - worth about £95 for a family of 4. (meal vouchers per person (from 3 years old) and per night booked in a Disney hotel. Children under 3 years old will receive baby food. Vouchers can be used for lunch and dinner (except brunch) throughout and only for the duration of your stay. Eg: from dinner on the day of arrival to lunch on the day of departure (breakfast is included in your package at your hotel)

I did a search for a 2 night stay at disney cheyenne hotel + 3 days in the parks. Total cost is £500 + get free meals worth about £190 . Ferry is extra
Go in January mid week for £372 for the same deal as above.

I was going to book the meal deal holiday by decided to cash in my tesco vouchers and go to florida.

You have to allow 3.5 hours driving and arrive at the port 45 minutes before the ferry leaves. So you would have to be at your car at 3.15pm to leave disney.
  • Just had a few days at EuroDisney. Verdict... it's fun but not THAT much fun and don't even think about going at the weekend.

On the Friday the max wait for the rides was 10mins, but on Saturday most of the queues were over an hour. Even the fastpass was no help - at lunchtime we got a fastpass ticket for 20:30 that night, long after hometime.

If you're driving, don't forget the road tolls. The route from Calais to Paris costs €20.20. The whole eurotunnel experience was excellent. We arrived very early and got on the next available train without hassle. Within 20 mins you're in France.

The food is overpriced in the parks - people should refuse to buy anything and I'm sure it wouldn't be long before they adjusted things. For example, one of the better deals was a bowl of chilli with a salad and a drink for €10.90. The kids meal was a few sausages and chips, a mickey cake and a small drink at €4.95. Snacks are similar prices so be prepared!

As for hotels, avoid the Disney ones. We stayed at the Newport Bay Club which was nice enough, but without any kid friendly features, apart from a boring pool (towel hire €2). The breakfasts were chaotic but the real scandal was the €29 buffet (half price for kids, but they hardly ate anything). Instead go to the Explorers Hotel nearby. It's much cheaper, has great play areas for children and a brilliant pool with a pirate ship and several flumes. You also get free bus rides to the parks.

Many of the rides are cute rather than thrilling. From my perspective, the most interesting were the special effects ride and the stunt show in Walt Disney Studios. The kids seemed more interested in the hotel swimming pool! Overall, I'd say you're better off going to one of our own theme parks and then watching a good Disney movie at home: same excitement, better value and a lot easier.

    Hi all

anyone thinking of going to disney land paris more than once in a year i would advise buying an annual passport

    http://offres.disneylandparis.fr/pas...ts/index.xhtml

last year i paid 129 euros for a 12 month pass

    rather than

    1 Day / 1 Park Disney Ticket
Prices (valid until April 1st, 2010):
    Adult: £45
Child (aged 3-11 years inclusive): £38

    2 Day / 2 Park Hopper Ticket
Prices (valid until April 1st, 2010):
    Adult: £96
Child (aged 3-11 years inclusive): £81

    3 Day / 2 Park Hopper Ticket
Prices (valid until April 1st, 2010):
    Adult: £119
Child (aged 3-11 years inclusive): £101

    4 Day / 2 Park Hopper Ticket
Prices (valid until April 1st, 2010):
    Adult: £139
Child (aged 3-11 years inclusive): £119

    5 Day / 2 Park Hopper Ticket
Prices (valid unti April 1st, 2010)
    Adult: £149
Child (aged 3-11 years inclusive): £126

I saved lots of money this way as you get free parking, 10% off in the shops and food stalls,

now i have looked on dis boards website that is for disney land paris

    http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1104480

And see that i can sponsor people for a disney annual passport but the ruels have changed and now the sponsor has to be present when sponsoring someone for an annual passport, you receive 10% off an annual passport and i receive extra months on my annual passport.

I am looking to go either 5th or 12th of april this year (sun £9.50 hol) so if anyone is planning a trip in these times and would like sponsoring for an annual passport drop me a pm

What a small world, i to am in hampshire and we did 2 trips last year to dlp via the sun holidays.

There is a way around the tolls into disney that saved us £40 getting into disney and £20 traveling uk-disney disney-uk

Parking is free if you are an annual pass holder so we saved 110 euros on both trips

Agreed food in the park is VERY expensive but they do have a macdonalds there (we did not find this out until the 3rd day of our 4 day first trip and were starving)

Would absolutly love to go back to florida but kids are too young to do the 9hr flight :0(
  • I was just about to order Magic tickets through an independent travel agent, priced at £35 for a 1 day adult hopper, £25 for a 1 day child hopper. They are delivered as e-tickets, exchangeable at the park. Has anybody else ordered from such a site?
