    dreamypuma,
Indeed I am seriously accusing Very and I am entirely liable for what I hereby state.
I am perfectly aware that Very could prosecute me if I was lying or wrongly accusing, but I know what I am doing

Fair play, but do you have any evidence that this is standard practice and not an infrequent and innocent error on their part?

I mean, I know they don't have a fantastic reputation, however they have been around for may years, so must be doing something right. Mistakes happen and, how efficiently they set you back to day one is more important. This is on the basis that you can demonstrate that you haven't contributed to the problem.

    dreamypuma,

You say: "but do you have any evidence that this is standard practice and not an infrequent and innocent error on their part?"
My answer: My evidence that this is being a common practice at Very, I took it from the telephone conversation with the customer advisor.
It was the customer advisor who acknowledged that Very is imposing what they call extended insurance "orientation" on ALL customers. Please read again my original post where I explain this.
On the other hand, when calling Very customer services, their kind of response about this is an immediate apology and a prior prepared speech for the situation. Therefore, it is very clear that Very has carefully elaborated its scam and has obviously elaborated a "plan B" or "escape plan" for those angry customers like me not prepared to let Very shaft us.

I would like to point out that first during my telephone conversation I make them aware that I was going to give them the most possible abject publicity for having tried out on me. And last night, before posting my complaint here, I also sent Very a copy of what I have published on MoneySavingExpert.com; and Very has only kept quiet about it. This is because they cannot tell me anything because they know they are on the fiddle.

And finally, I would like to remind you that they have not really been around for a while. First it was Littlewood More at the high street until it closed down and changed name and turned to catalogue scheme as LittlewoodDirect.com, and recently it has changed its name to Very.
If a company has to change its name from time to time, it is because it wears out the hedge and prestige over time and that can only be achieved by being dodgy and unscrupulous, innit?

Well, I cant say its happened to me at all. I've always been given the option, when ordering over the internet you just click "no extended warrenty" and over the phone I just say no.

I still get letters advising me to take it out but I dont.

Very is the new brand name for former Littlewoodsdirect.com.
Whatever the name, this company has always been very dodgy. For example, it is common practice for Very to advertise notebooks with a CD player built in, but there is not such a thing when you buy the item.

To be fair to Very they are general retailer and not a specialist PC retailer. They've probably been lax and used standard forms that assume every laptop/notebook has a CD Drive. In fact CD drives are so obsolete as most basic laptops have DVD drives as a bare minimum.

You are wrong here. It is Very's faults, Very advertises those supposed £10 air time with certain new mobile phones. When you call the networks' customer services, they refer you back to the seller of the item, which is Very.

    you have an attitude problem

but the way they do the top ups is not how it used to be somwhere in your box is a form with a pass code that you give to orange and they top your phone up in 48hrs i know cause i had the same problem and like me you probably threw it away think it was rubbish

    Hello rsykes2000,

Indeed, I have proof of what I say. The proof appears on my latest account statement.
However, I am sorry, but I am not prepared to advertise a copy of my account to any stranger. Eventually, I could disclose my Very account statement to a county court or to the Financial Ombudsman, but please be sensible!
Do you really expect me to publish my financial details, address, etc; on the Internet?!

    Kind regards
    d9nd5c

Maybe if you have time out from ranting you could point out exactly where I asked for your financial details to be posted ? If you want help, your attitude isn't going to make people feel disposed to help you.

    Hello rsykes2000,

This is what you said to me:

"just wondering if you've got any proof for this, either online or scanned / emailed ? If true, very disturbing

    My reply:
Perhaps my reading skills in English language are not very good, but reading it over again, what I can understand from your words is that you wanted me to send you an scanned copy of my Very account statement.

Finally, please don't be confused. I am not here to request help from anybody.
I am here to make public what crooked Very is carrying out these days. I am trying to give Very the publicity they deserve.
Take a look at the side of your screen and see the watermark of MoneySavingExpert.com. It says: CONSUMER REVENGE, and this is precisely what I am doing, taking revenge on phony Very.

i dont think there phony im quite happy with the service ive received and like many companies they do make mistakes no one is perfect

you have an bad attitude and it seems to you're either a disgruntled ex employer or your being chased for a debt that you don't wish to pay

at the end of the day they have a returns policy where if your not happy with a product you send it back

that's all you have to do i think my 5 year old could work that out

you don't have to post slanderous comments on here

    jamespir,

Can you see? I don't have an attitude problem, but irritates me people who quickly post comments without having read properly my original post.
And you are a clear example of that !! Read again my original post!!

The lawnmower to which Very added insurance in a single sided decision was bought THREE (3) YEARS AGO!!!!!

READ and THINK!!!! before you write silly thing. How the hell can I return something bought THREE years ago!!!
Your observation skills are very poor and so your judgement. Underneath my moniker clearly says that I live in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Therefore, how the hell can you jump to the conclusion that I have ever worked for Very, which is based in Liverpool?
And again, your judgement let's you down. I am not in any arrear or debt with Very, I have with them a credit limit of £5000 because I have never missed any payment.

Please don't make me angry again! READ properly and assess properly!
