i have won a book for 1p , i did put a higher bid on but nobody else placed a bid
in the postage box it states free p+P on the listing they have put 4.00 post (their words)
the invoice has the £4.00 p+p added , how can i pay without paying the postage
should i just ask for a new invoice pointing out thay are not allowed to charge for P+P under ebay rules
or is there a way i can remove the postage from the invoice (i have tried but cant see how to do it ? )
thanks

so just to check
you knew that the entire cost was 4.01?
If yes, you should either pay up or cancel the bid and not buy the book citing the new rules.
Do you honestly think you could buy a book and have it posted to you for 1p? Cheeky is a way to describe it.2023 wins - zilch, nada, big fat duck. quack quack,0 -
So the seller should just be allowed to get away with circumventing eBays rules? If they're forced to sell for 1p it serves them right for thinking they're above the rules.0

I've seen a few sellers offering books with postage as 'freight' or detailed in the small print. Obviously the buyer should read all the details but it does seem unfair.A [STRIKE]B[/STRIKE][STRIKE]C [/STRIKE]D E [STRIKE]F[/STRIKE]G H I J K L M N O P Q R S [STRIKE]T[/STRIKE]U V [STRIKE]W [/STRIKE]X Y Z0

OP, can you pay from the email ebay sent you when you won? That might overrule the invoice you received, and give you the correct postage amount.
Oh, and you might also want to report the seller for circumvention of ebay fees.Back on MSE after a 5 year hiatus.

Or perhaps the seller should have read the rules before selling on ebay?
Rules state books are free p&p, so if they wanted to sell it for £4, they should have started the auction at £4.
They were trying to cheat the ebay fee system but got stung. Seller's fault.
OP, can't you just change the invoice to 1p?Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

Pay via the ebay listing.. Where it says you have won it should just say pay now0
-
MMm wierd as it should just be the auction price. The other thing to try I think if you go to Paypal and click the send money tab. Click to pay for ebay items (ignore the bit that says about ebay checkout) it then will want your ebay login and it should get the details from the listing (including the auction number) That may work0
