i am not that fussed tbh about the odd bit and have made it a straight £129..thanks!

It's not a straight £129 though - is it? Nobody's getting different amounts [one person is but everyone else isn't]

    :confused::confused::confused:

anyway - I've got to go and light a fire.
  • It's £131.66 recurring, which makes it £131.67.

Why ask and then ignore everyone?

Hi thanks again for the replys..
Zazen did i upset you in some way last night?! the reason i have done £129 is i have had as replys:

    x £4 = £131.67
    £131.60
    £131.66? ??
131.67 if you want every penny
    i make it £130.20p
    £131.67
I agree most are £131 something but it is the somthing i was finding hard to get the same as dh! tbh the better way for me to bill them is £129 as is the same hours as the last holidays give or take 10 mins each day this time (and they are likely to be late!) but thought ide round it to £130 just to be in the middle, neither way ripping anyone off....BUT had a call about 10 mins ago saying they needed the hours doubled as the other dd will be coming to me now so that's effectively £260:j
    Thanks again for the replys.

    Gaby,

I can only guess that Zazen's frustration is because the Maths is fairly straightforward, yet you couldn't see which answer was right. Perhaps the 'workings out' will help:

    Total hours = 32 hours 55 mins

    32 hours x £4 = £128
    55 minutes x £4 = 55/60 x 4 = £3.666666666666666666

In reality, the correct answer Mathematically is £131.67 since it's income or money owed to you. The amount would be rounded down to £131.66 if you were working out money/tax you owed.

My 9 year old managed it this morning if it helps put Zazen's frustration into perspective. ;)

Great news about the extra hours, especially at this (expensive) time of year. What a bonus. :)

No, you didn't upset me I just can't work out why you ask a question and then ignore the correct answers.

But hey, it's your money. It all adds up over the year.

    For info.

Add up all the hours and minutes, so that you have x hours and y minutes and do 3 sums.

a - minutes divide by 60 and times that by £4
    b - hours times by £4
c - add them both up

    That's your amount. Simples.

I think people get £130.20 because they times £4 by 3.55 , time isnt decimal , you have to divide £4 by 60 mins and then times by 55 mins .

Who is only being paid £4 per hour , or have i missed something?...............Just re read , childminding fees?

Hi thanks Lunar Eclipse for your reply.

Ok my first post was not that serious just a query as to what everyone else came up with..i see now that i am losing roughly just over £1 per week which is why it was just a query really to begin with (apologies for not saying that to start with) I think the prob was i work it out completely different to dh therefore confusing matters! I am not bothered about the extra £1 or so as it is not regular money as such (holiday income) but that doesn't mean i am ignoring everyone.

Zazen999 i wasn't ignoring the replys just thought it was a bit petty billing somone for £131.67 when i am earning good money i didnt expect tbh..i have decided writing it down to invoice them it is much easier to put 8-30 until xxx rather than 8-20.

I do appreciate the replys though thanks.
