new delivered car different from advertised specifcation
Comments
-
I recently bought a new car and have found that it is not the same as the advertised brochure or specification for model I purchased.
These range from cosmetic functional changes i.e. roof bars, boot light, chrome exhaust not on the car anymore, photos in brochure show these features
to functional items listed in the specification but not supplied with the car such damper on the glove box when mine does not have one.
The manufacturer states they can change the specification without notice, the specification and brochures are the same as when I ordered the car to current date on their website and same as the brochures in the dealer. I was never notified that these changes occured as its only due to fuller inspection after delivery I have noticed these changes however they are still advertised as having these items.
Where do I stand?[/QUOTE]
In a more !!!!ed off position than if you had bought a nearly new car and could see exactly what you were getting before you signed on the dottedI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

The OP says it is 'top of the range' but it sounds to me like this is going to be a bargain basement range.0 -
All my cars have boot lights, but I've fitted a LED light on the roof so that:
1) The boot is fully illuminated rather than from one side
2) I can leave the boot open for long periods without draining the battery
Total cost of the LED light and batteries? About a fiver. The man without a signature.0 -

Is it a trabant??
Seriously, what car doesn't have a glovebox damper or a light in the boot??
If removing those items has saved the manufacturer money, this must be one of the cheapest cars on the road0 -
What is a glovebox damper?! I've never actually heard of one
I do feel bad for the op - when you spend alot of money on something you want to get exactly what you were expecting even though the differences might seem trivial I think I would be dissapointed too.
Have you spoken to the dealership about the issue?0 -

It's white.... with a bluish tinge. It's great for lighting up the laydeez that I pick up in nightclubs. I turn on the light and get them to strip in the back so that the people behind can see what I'm going home to.:DThe man without a signature.0 -
He was told by the salesman that the car would be exactly the same as the one pictured, except for the roof rack. Therefore he should have expected to see the chrome exhaust etc. But he probably shouldn't have taken delivery. Manufacturers saying that spec is subject to change is all well and good, but then customers can also order the car subject to actually getting what they want.0
