it is a brand new car I did not choose any options as these were all standard features to this model spec as it was top of the range, the dealer advised me that only the roof bars had changed was not aware of any other changes.

    on the other note
So what don't you understand?

You ordered a new car and that is what you got didn't you? Today 5:54 PM

I order a new car based on a advertised specification that that car should have.

Surely merely putting a legal disclaimer does not mean they can shirk their duty when the manufacturer has signed up to the new car code.

the first point in the new car code

    Advertising
‘Our advertising will honestly promote our new cars’
What our promise means to you
1.1 Our advertisements, promotion or any other publications, whether in writing or otherwise,
will not contain any items which are likely to mislead you or be misunderstood.
1.2 Our advertisements (including comparative advertisements), promotions or any other
publications will comply with the requirements of relevant legislation along with the
codes, regulations and rulings of the relevant organisations or associations.
1.3 Any comparison made within our advertisements between our models and those offered
by other vehicle manufacturers will not confuse or mislead you. Our advertisements will
objectively compare models based upon relevant and verifiable features, which may
    include the price.

The car was and still is being specified that it has certain features and advertised photos that depict other features.if the car received is different am I not being misled?

if they are able to change the specification without notice are they able to still advitise those features especially seeing they have had 12 months to update the literature.

to me a specification is an exact thing, the car should have them. if it does not it should be called a specification

    spec⋅i⋅fi⋅ca⋅tion

–noun 1. the act of specifying. 2. Usually, specifications. a detailed description or assessment of requirements, dimensions, materials, etc., as of a proposed building, machine, bridge, etc. 3. a particular item, aspect, calculation, etc., in such a description. 4. something specified, as in a bill of particulars; a specified particular, item, or article. 5. an act of making specific. 6. the state of having a specific character.

on inspection I checked for damage and obvious problems. I did not have a check list to tick off every point of order.
  • Even top of the range cars have extra's added in the brochures.

Why don't you list exactly what you not happy about with your car.

You car has a boot light and exhaust I take it, therefore a damper on the glove box seems very picky and only a slight change from the specifications.

my car does not have the boot light, or exhaust trim, or damper plus some other changes, the manufacturer customer services person stated that the damper should be on the car. yes they are minor changes but how many cars do you know do not have a boot light, this had been included in the last 3 years. In this case its a family car so it is a more a pain at night time when you have kids have to go hunting for a toy or bottle.

You would not buy any other good that says it has certain features or looks like this, so why would a car be any different.
  • So you don't have a boot light, ok I could see how that could cause a problem.
No exhaust trim, wow buy one from halfruads.
Damper, does the glove box really need one?

What are the other changes, wrong dust caps?

  • Could you see from the brochure that the glovebox had a damper?

they are more minor changes and deletions.

I think they have just cut corners to lower the cost due to motor industry woes and then not told anyone even tho they have had plenty of time to update photos and specifications. for example Boot light would mean they would not have to install a wiring loom or boot switch. having a small legal print saying they will deliver something that may or may not resemble the car specified is not excuse when they signed up to a motor industry code that says they will do nothing to mislead people.

I am angry at the cosmetic changes but I can live with that, but I am really angry that things I have paid for are not there even if they are discovered after inspection.

I was not able to test drive the current model as there were none in this or any other dealer within 300 miles so I had were specifications and brochures.
