I get e-mail updates from https://www.ourproperty.co.uk of all the local sold prices. On the main page it says that September sold prices were available on the 29th of October. When we sold in June last year I think it was on there at the end of July.

I bought mine in August and it is still not showing, a house which was sold after me is showing. I do no know how this works. There is nothing to show that the house is mine, am a bit concerned. The conveyancer laughed when I told him, no legal document since everything is electronic. I also wonder whether it is because I was a cash buyer.

jenner, the one I linked to is free. You have to sign up but it doesn't cost anything.
  • It was a fairly new house c2003 - pics have disappeared from Rightmove so can't post a link BUT it was a self build (badly) for his own occupation. The builder had then gone bust (not surprising if you saw the 'quality' of his work) so it was potentially a money pit and my bid had to reflect this.

I had an educated guess it needed £50K to get it put right - everything needed doing, windows, kitchen, 2 bathrooms, garden, drains possibly as the drive has sunk in 2 places etc etc. The point about the roof turret was it wasn't a straightforward slates off job to fix the leaks there were curves and several gullies and gable ends to contend with so it wasn't going to be cheap and would need a roofer experienced in unusual shapes.

It was on at offers over £210K - I offered £201K cash with completion within 14 days no conditions attached so was disappointed they went with someone else as I was keen on it. I like unusual properties and the position was good but not having sold mine did not want to go any higher.

There aren't any similar properties for comparison but renovated it should be worth c£280 - £300K

Sorry Milly, it's not on there either.
  • Confuses me with some of the sold prices. I sold mine 2nd Sep and its on all the sites already. One I lost out on completed week before but no sign. i was told however a lot can come down to how quick your solicitor pays the stamp(may drag it out to the 30 days) or even longer if the original charge on the deeds by the mortgage company is slow to be released. Thus taking longer to process
