  • Hi there,

Try to relax about your my interview was with a lovely lady that really put me at ease and took time to go through everything with me she was great - although I think it is normal to worry I did!

Just looking at your SOA I can say my OR let me keep the budget for pet insurance/food, holidays, Sky TV & Broadband as that was included in a entertainment allowance. I know some may not let you keep those but I would definitely add them on as they can only say no

    Good Luck

    thanks,
would you say that my latest SOA looks ok???
im just stressing, I only went bankrupt on friday 20th so not heard about an interview yet and they've not requested anything as yet.
what did they request ith you?
  • Hi ya,

    I'll start again.

Round up your gas, electric & tv to the nearest pound - easier to work with whole figures.

Change medical to £20 as 1 perscription is £8 and NHS dentist is £16.50 for a check up. Change holiday to £50.00 - you are allowed a reasonable UK holiday so £50 amounts to £600 pa which is probably less than 1 week at Butlins... Also put down £20.00 for dry cleaning.

That should bring your surplus to £42. So looking good.

That should still give you a little room to move if the OR decides to disallow anything, as at the end of the day the decsion is ultmiatley theirs.

As you haven't received your pack from them yet, redo your SOA, print of two copies & send them one copy of your new "revised" SOA back with you letters. You'll have a few bits to sign & send back. They will also ask for any bank statements, cards loan agreements etc. Keep a copy for yourself with your br paperwork so you have it to hand when you have your interview.

If there are any changes to be made after the interview, just let OR know.

    Good luck

just seen this post, I did a claim through CSA when my youngest was 18months and ive had nothing (waste of time)
my eldest starts full time in jan & youngest starts nursery in jan, my childminder still wants to charge me at least £300!! but my girls are settled thats the only thing thats stopping me moving them to different childminder, but obviously f my child care costs are lowered then my tax credits will also be lowered so its still money i dont see
im trying to think it was for the best but at the min im still stressing like mad!!

    Hi there

I dont know what part of the country you live in, or how often the childminder has your children, but when my son went full time she 'had' to reduce the amount I ws paying her, she actually cam and told me and give me an overpayment back. For your Fulltime child you are essentially paying for drop of and pick up from school, and to provide with tea, so ask for her tariffs.

    Hi
    whats happened is ....
my childminder lives in a 2 bedroom house with 3 kids and is pregnant again, she is basically guilt tripping me into making me keep my girls with her as she "needs" my money in order to move house..... My advice.... stop popping children out if you dont have the money to move already... selfish of me i know but if i can find cheaper child care then m sure my OR will have something to say about it!
She would have my eldest child for 1hr in the morning and 30min on a night to pick her up from school, which i then have to go to collect her from the school as she cant fit them all in her car.....
my youngest will be at nursery so in effect from Jan she would have my girls for half a day apart from the school pick up!
Everyone advised me to quit work which i seriously considered but i like my job and it keeps me sain!!
so i did some re-search into the costs i should be paying and are as follows:

    eldest : breakfast club : £4.75 x 5 days = £23.75
after school club: £3.50 x 5 days = £17.50 (as it would only be for 30 min)

    youngest: half day sessions at private nursery : £18 x 5 days = £90
after school club £3.50 x 5 days = £17.50 (as it would only be for 30 min)

Total costs for both girls in Jan : £148.75
    as appose to £300!!!!

samyc, just a little note about housing and council tax benefit. My DH works 45 hours a week and we still received a little help, I was amazed we could access it but we did. The rules have changed now so child benefit is not taken into account when they do the calculations, it might just be a little amount but worth a look on ww.entitledto.co.uk just to see :)

But your tax credits would reduce accordingly leaving you no better or worse off?

Your landline telephone looks extremely expensive to me? Ours costs £11.50pm + £5 or so for unlimited calls day and night. How come yours costs 3x more than mine?
