Can you put up a more detailed SOA if possible, you need to include how may in the household, partners income if there is one and things like that. I am useless at doing this as you will see if you look on the board, there are quite a few SOA threads of mine, for some reason I just cannot get my head around it. If you use the template in the linkk below and then repost it, I am sure someone will be able to help.

    and WISE too late!
  • You need to do a proper SOA with numbers of people in the houshold etc according to that you get £3000, and only use £1650

  • Should I be rude and say "Why work?" £1300+ on child minders, you are working to pay someone else your entire wage! Its your choice I guess.

Sorry, not very helpful that, but I am speechless at the amount of money you have as a single parent family with 2 children, that equates to roughly a £48,000 a year job. And as you prove, its not enough. Thats mind bogling
  • Worlds most expensive childminder you've got !!!!

Can you get a cheaper one....
  • Agree your childcare costs are very very high. Do you get some of it paid for by tax credits and is that why your benefits amount is quite high?

Water, Gas and electric. Does that include arrears as they seem high.

    Clothing allowance could be increased
  • Ah just realised that you have already gone bankrupt. The OR may question the water, gas and electric if he feels they are high? Do you know if they are? If he says they are then maybe ask to increase your clothing allowance as it seems low to me. As low as your surplus is less than £99 you wont get an IPA.

Hopefully one of the pros will be along in a minute to help you out. When is your interview?

your right my childminding costs are extremly high, but yes the reason for my benefits been high is that it helps to pay my childminding costs!
Yes i went Bankrupt on the 20th Nov, so not sure when my interview is yet just waiting for my letter, but im terrified that i may have to pay into my bankruptcy
i dont get any help from there dad towards bringing up the girls :@ im so stressed with it all.
I suppose the worst part is over the going bankrupt part i was so embarrassed especially when i couldn't even afford to get my daughters friend a present for the party she attended yesterday! :(
yes the gas, electric, water & council tax all have arrears
  • Ok. The water, gas and electric will arrears will all go into the bankruptcy so you will be liable to only pay current from now. Take meter readings. I dont know if you can contact them or if OR will. One of the pros will help out soon with this.

You do need to try and ascertain what the current usage will be. Maybe a quick call to the enery suppliers asking "If my account was not in arrears how much would my current usage be please?"

I still think your clothing allowance could be increased. Also how do you travel to work? Seems a low amount.

Council tax. Does that include arrears?
  • Is your household just groceries and cleaning?

    Dont forgot TV licence.

    Im assuming no car.

    Childcare activities. Holiday fund.

Did you get advise pre bankruptcy. You SOA has some common things missing like holiday fund, child activities. Think you need to look at whole SOA again. When those bills have normal amounts there MAY be a surplus so if you can add in any geniune things to balance it out that would be good.

Please dont worry. Someone like Tigerfeet will be here soon. In the meanwhile do the makesenseofit link to a proper SOA. It covers everything and will help us have a good look at SOA.
