thank you i will print the list off and have a look at it tonight and then post again tomorrow as i do not have the net at home
thanks again0 -
Ok good luck.
A few other things to consider. Council Tax. Are you entiled to any help? Do you receive 25% discount.
Water: do any of you have a medical condition which requires you to use more water. My son has excema. My metered water is protected at a lower tariff. All water boards should have "social tariffs" but they are rarely advertised.
Your telephone bill is quite high if it doesnt include the net? Arrears? Do you have an inclusive package?0 -
Hi,
Welcome to the boards. The interviews aren't that bad really, the OR's are just really thorough as they have to assertain where all your spending went in the past & to make sure that you don't make the same mistakes / end up br again in the future. The point of a SOA is to establish that you have a fair amount to live on as you will not have to option of credit anymore.
Just one q, would you mind breaking down your benefits just so that we can establish your SOA better. Some benefits are not taken into consideration though most are now.
If you get Council Tax Benefit & Housing Benefit, then exclude them from the amounts in your SOA so that you are showing your actual rent & CT. ie, mine is £570.00pm but I get £50.00 HB, which means I only pay £370 rent. The HB I included in my benefits so they cancelled out each other. So my SOA showed benefit of £50 but full rent at 570. IYSWIM

As Newdawn has said, take meter reading then call the gas & elec companies. What they should do is to close down your account which is in arrears then reopen a new account starting from your BR day.
The Water & Council Tax are slightly different as these should be cleared for the year but that depends on where you got wioth the arrears.
IE Council Tax, do you have a final bill & liability order?
With the children will they be taking packed lunches or do you get free school meals. If you qualify for free school meals then you should also get free milk. Am only asking this as I have to pay for my daughter so I've had to budget for that - so these will need to be accounted for if you have to pay for any of them.
I would also put other child related exp up to £20.00 so that you have a pot for school trips etc - as they can be bl**dy expensive.
Think that's enough until you find out what your tarriffs are for g&E - you could put doiwn what they were before the arrears were added - though £80 for each isn't really that high esp as we are coming into winter. I'm on a meter & put £60.00 on gas 27th Oct, I'm on £20.00 now and I haven't even had my heating on everyday. Eves for approx an hour to take chill of & a few morning so I could easily do £80.00 when it does get cold.
Thats it now.
Good luck.BSC 289A life lived in fear is a life not living!Proud to have dealt with my debts.0 -
Right....
After hearing everyone agree that my childcare costs are high i looked into splitting my girls up, which would mean my costs would be from Jan 2010 : £148!!! as appose to £300!!!
my childminder still wants to charge me £300 after my eldest starts full time school and my youngest would be there half a day!!
I rang tax credits and they told me an estimate from Jan with new child care costs would be £345 per week minus the £148 child care costs, leaving me with £197 to put towards bills
I don't get any housing benefit as i work full time & my usual council tax was £86 per month
As for gas & electric this has not really gone up I have always paid around £70 - £75 on each of them & paid more when i was on pre payment meter
My water as I remember has not been below the £60 mark
when my children start school & nursery I will be using a pack lunch, as im not entitiled to any free school meals / milk etc!
would any one be able to do me a expenditure sheet as to what they think i should be using???
thanks0 -
Hi Samyc,
With regards to what you should be using it's really a case of putting down what you have to pay. Providing you have the paperwork to back up your figures (if they seem high) then the OR can't argue. Just remember to deduct any additional payments fior arrears as these will go into your br.
The figures in red are taken from the household expenditure from national statistics for 2007-2008 so they are slightly out of date. These are simular to the trigger figures that the OR's use.
You could look at sites like uswitch to see if you can get a better rate / tariff on your gas & electric.
The water seems high but this could be because of the arrears. I'm on a payment plan and pay £27pm - though mine is metered so I'm not sure if this makes a difference.
Have you ever put in a claim for HB? Just cos you are working full time doesn't mean that you are not entitled to it. Even if you only get £10pw it's better than nothing.
Looks like your getting there.
Reod your SOA with the changes then you can see where your at now.
Don't worry abour changes in the future ie childcare costs etc, as you can notify the OR when these happen & he will adjust your soa acordingly.
Just another thing if you have to do any dry cleaning for work then you can add these costs in as well.BSC 289A life lived in fear is a life not living!Proud to have dealt with my debts.0 -
i have just thought i did not put any bills onto my creditors list during my bankruptcy so will the arears still be taken into account??
a water meter would be no good for us i dont think, would prob cost us more!

He will probably question it if they have asked for bank statements, but just tell him what the money was for - as this is now added into your new SOA for post br so you will be able to manage your own money.
It's not a loan and the money was going on your food etc. so normal housekeeping.BSC 289A life lived in fear is a life not living!Proud to have dealt with my debts.0 -
