Have you thought about dropping your CV and contact details into every eating establishment you can find? You never know, you might be the answer to someone's prayer!

I'm wondering whether the JCP realised that your ex employer was actually family? I would make sure they know that, so they understand that they are unlikely to get a totally unbiased report.
    :D I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe :D

  • I would have thought you could claim constructive dismissal, basically you were forced to resign because you were subject to harrassment and treated differently to other staff and denied opportunity to progress due to your stepmother. I would be talking to Acas if I were you and get yourself back into the jobcentre, they might see your claim differently if you are claiming you were forced out of your job and are pursuing it through official channels.

I cant help but think is it not bad enough that this person has been forced out of her job that she is now being messed about by the Jobcentre.

It never fails to turn my stomach when reading posts like this where some smart person starts stating the obvious and patronising people who are only seeking a bit of advice for example "what do you intend to live on after 1st Jan"

How is this offering them advice in their current situation by posting questions like that - also - not being funny, hmm - yes you are ........

  • I really dont know the timescales to be honest, I know with things like accidents etc its three years from the event. It seems a very short timespan to be able to put yourself back together from something like that.

Can you complain to the company that operates the franchise ?

My friends husband was in the same situation as you, in fact they were treating a lot of their staff very badly. In the end he handed his notice in but they were really struggling for money as they had a baby and my friend was a sahm. My friend sent an email to the company owner outlining all the terrible behaviour that had gone on and her husband was given 3 months salary.

I guess what I am trying to say is even if it is too late legally this doesnt stop you from contacting the head office and reporting what happened, any half decent company will be interested and you can show this to the jobcentre maybe as well

Ouch :o. I meant no offence to the OP, not that I expect you to realise that. Until you arrived on the scene I was the only person who had been trying to help her, and my question was relevant to her feelings that she would be unable to afford food unless she got a benefit reinstated that only has a maximum of six weeks left to run anyway. Obviously she would need to be thinking about her strategy for when this period expires. The OP answered my question politely and did not appear offended by it. However I belatedly apologise, OP, if any offence was caused.

What's the weather like up there on your high horse potnoodle?

Cloudy with a chance of meatballs.

I I dont understand why her JSA will run out in Jan if she isnt having any money at the moment :(

Perhaps not so much from your goodself but as someone who has been made redundant this year themself and has been applying for jobs, it never fails to astound me how many people decide to post on these forums saying - are you looking for a job, I hope you spend 9 hours a day looking for work etc etc and its kind of stating the obvious and insulting however I accept you didnt mean anything malicious by it and so I apologise

Thats a easy one to answer.

    The OP says
    my partner works

  • Yes but her payment has been interrupted so if she is successful then she will be entitled to the full 26 weeks, which if she isnt getting any at the moment will take her past the Jan date ?
