I murdered mine by using the best part of a cheap £1 tin of fly and wask killer.

I clagged the nesting area with foam and stood back. They didn't like it one bit but were desperate to get to the nest. Eventually they went for it and immediatly dropped on contact with the foam.

Try it - its cheaper than the council.

My Dad has a wasp nest in his garage, how does he get rid of them?

Can he get some spray/powder to kill them from a DIY store? If so which brand is best and how much?

Or how much do the council charge to get rid of them??

Well professionally if possible - if you're not aware if you're alergic then stay clear is my advice.

I remember reading that a good firm hold hairspray covering the entrance (and into it) stops the beasties from flying or swarming. Stick the nest into a black bin liner filled with powder, tie and shake.

Not very humane though, but to be honest wasps are nothing but a bleeding pest.

  • Careful as whilst spraying, the beasts will come out of their alveolas in great numbers. Better call the local council who would normally deal with this inconvenience.

My neighbour recently had a wasps nest removed and the council charged about £50 I think. Good luck!

I can recommend Rentokill wasp nest foam killer. It is in a large black aerosol type can with a bright yellow top. Costs £2.99 at Tesco and Wilkinsons (you'll only need 1 tin). Followed the instructions, didnt get stung and the following day all of the wasps had died or packed their bags and the nest has now disintegrated.

Ring your council. Mine does it for £30. They nuked the nest in my roof, excellent service. Dont mess with wasps yourself, if you watched Saxondale you will know that wasps are B!AST%DS!
