I totally agree. When people are upset about pets the last thing they need is an attitude of this sort.0 -
I am so sorry for your loss i know exactly what you are going through as i had to get my dog put to sleep in December and was hardest decision iv had to make. She was 10 and had a malignant mammary tumour. She had lumps since she was a puppy and we were told they were cysts but suddenly grew huge and we took her to a second vet and had bi-opsy done to discover was mammary cancer. We managed to keep her comfortable for a few weeks but as we began to see her get uncomfortable we knew we had to do what was best for her and not be selfish!0

aww so sorry hun.
I get really annoyed with the 'if you cant afford insurance you shouldnt have a pet brigade'
unfortunately - some insurance companies dont cover certain things - or the insurance companies dont cover pets of a certain age .
not to mention their self-rightous smug attitudes
its all some people can do to afford food for their pets and they go without themselves. so they can keep the only companion they have.
and its shameful the PDSA say they are a national charity - but to get help from them you have to live in a certain postcode area. to me thats not right.
my postcode is for one city - but there is no PDSA there - but - the stupid thing is, i live near a PDSA centre.
how can a national charity exclude people because they dont live in right postcode? this to me - needs addressing. and i give money to PDSA every month - and have only just found out that if anyone in my area needed help - they wouldnt get it! not from PDSA. i wont stop the donations - but it makes me feel sick that neighbours etc wouldnt get help from them.0 -
So sorry to hear the sad news xxx0

Polish big spender, well maybe you can afford to be. You don't know the circumstances of other people. A vets bill for this could easily amount in excess of £400. I know because this is what i was charged foe a cat with cancer and after taking my money the vet said he would be better put down.
As for pet insurance, don't get me started. I have had pet insurance for my 12 year old cat since he was a kitten. The prieums have gone up & up each year. He had some teeth that needed to come out last year and the insurance wouldn't pay because he was over 9 and they dont pay out for teeth or ears for old cats. it cost me £235 for the teeth and this year up to now £84 for his ears.
I did go to the pdsa but because i wasn't claiming pension credit they wouldn't even look at me. There were young men with 2 massive dogs who were breeding them and boasting of how much they would get for the pups, and they were getting free treatment0 -

If you hang around a Job Centre and see the kind of cars people draw up in to sign on your start to wonder just wether these people are entitled to benefits. However its not up to PDSA to make that decision.0
