Morning ladies (seems like the gents have long disappeared)

Have completed the school run, how you lovelies do it every day is beyond me. DD is a nightmare to get out of the house! Have just munched my frosties and should get on with something gentle as the walk was exhausting, but it does mean doogies walked too.

Jill - I'm with the others on speaking to the coach. Your little lad seems so keen it would be a shame to have him stop. In this day and age of so many overweight children spending all their time in front of a screen, its refreshing that he wants to be active and of course if he doesnt practice how will he ever get better. Can DH spend some time practising with him too?

smileyt - hugs for you hunny. You have done a huge thing and offered this lad a home and some structure in his life. Maybe what he needs is to be told a few gentle rules like cleaning up if you spill some thing. If you dont nip it in the bud straight away resentment can quickly build up and spoil things.

Will prepare a list but am not going to overdo it.

    Happy flying

    ETA to add list

OT but could I have some parenting/teasing/mild bullying advice please?

DS is 6 1/2 and plays for an U7's football team. He's not very good, but he enjoys it and always wants to go, and this is a big thing for him as he anxious about loads of things. I was sure he would give up when it got dark, cold and wet but he still loves it.

One of the boys on the team, who he also knows from school, constantly tells hims he's "rubbish" and its upsetting DS. He will sit there and say" I am rubbish at football arent I Mummy". Poor wee soul. DH wants to stop taking him, but DS hasnt said he doesnt want to go and still enjoys it so I've said to DH we need to let him play for as long as he wants.
He said to DH after football yesterday that the boy had told him again that he's rubbish. DH said "make sre you tell Mummy", DS said "but I know what she'll say - she'll say just ignore him".
I don't know what else to tell him other than to ignore it.

Should we say to the coach ?
Should we say to the parents ?
All I want is for this boy to stop telling him he's rubbish.

I've read that all back and it sounds really trivial. We've never had a situation like this before, just not sure how best to handle it,
    TIA

I sadly have a lot of experience of kids football teams:D They tend to fall into two categories - ones run by parents who are all inclusive and support all abilities and the love of kids having fun and ones run by parents trying to fulfil their own dreams:eek: My kids have played for both - you will know which I prefer. So firstly you need to work out which sort of team you son is at and if it is the right team for him (this can often by ascertained by the league/division they are playing in - although that may be next year for you). Talk to the coach about the ethos of the team - most will have a club agreement thing that you sign a bit like in school.

Now a story to warm your hearts. DS2's team have a boy who is not as good as the others, we all know that, he knows that. He always turns up for training, he is at all games but usually as sub but always gets to play (that is actually FA rules for kids but is our clubs ethos). Last season 3 of the best players left and the team would not have continued if it wasn't for this boy sticking with the team and they all knew it. This year he scored a hat trick and every boy was delighted for him. If he loves to play let him continue, it is great for confidence but choose the right team! DS1's played for the other sort of team, I won't bore you with the details other than to say the experience was not as positive.

Must find a way of unblocking the guttering. My beloved DS's play a game of throwing tennis balls over the house. Inevitably some of the tennis balls fall short and get stuck in the guttering. Water was pouring over the guttering yesterday (all over my just cleaned windows) and on investigation a rogue tennis ball is blocking the down pipe. It's a 3 storey house so I need a long pole to try and lean out of the loft bedroom window. Broom handle is too short and I'm struggling for inspiration.

You really need some proper help, window cleaner?

Right I need to make a list and get my ebay stuff packed to post and arrange for some buyers to collect.

    Oh b***** I just lost a post.

I would like to try again this week. I lost the will to do anything at the end of last week. Maybe a bit of constructive flying will help keep my mind off everyone elses' problems. DH is worse, the rest of my extended family seems to be imploding, (Can't say anything else on here.) and I am not managing to keep it all together.

Off to do some serious flying today!

Hello. I got my first star last week (thanks!) and spent much of yesterday making a start on the worst room in the house. It's half dining room (and half study) so I can do the windows today - although it's a conservatory so it'll take a while!

My first load of washing is in - here goes!
