Ok I know that Blackberry is a great phone. But I do not need a phone for business, just email, texts, diary etc.
Anyway, I love Nokia phones and like the look of the N71. Does anyone have one. Would you recommend it as an alternative to the Blackberry??
I would appreciate your thoughts .

I got both, E71 and a work blackberry.
For everyday use (text, phonecall and browsing) I'd pick the E71 anytime. The internet is so much faster, applications so much simpler and the E71 is a Nokia, meaning, if you had one Nokia, you know what you do and where to go.
The blackberry seems a bit over complicated to me. It prob does the same things, I do feel I have to press twice as many buttons. No doubt, it is an advantage to get mail straight pushed to your phone.0 -
Now my question is - why would you get a Blackbery (or Nokia E71) over an iPhone??0

I have a BlackBerry Bold.
My Mrs has an E71.
Although the BB is decent, the E71 is excellent and the battery is great.
If work didn't pay for the BB i would definitely get shot of it.0 -

+ points for BB/E71:
Excellent Battery Life.
Better at picking up signal.
Better at basic phone tasks e.g. calls.
Cost less and not tied down by Apple in any way e.g. you can get retention offers.
You won't take it out in public and look round and see that everyone around you has the same phone!
You don't have to pay extra for a plug charger
Don't have to use iTunes to sync
-points
App store's not as good
Internet browsing experience slightly better on iPhone
Both E71/BB are seen as business phones
iPhone has better music player and can download music on the move (if 3G/wifi is available)
and I have an iPhone 3G, so I'm not being biased0 -
I have a BlackBerry and wouldnt go back to any other phone - battery is great, quick to text/email/IM/facebook etc0

See with the E71, do you have to pay per month to use the internet like you pay the £5 with blackberry or is it free?0

Depends on your tariff if Internet is included or not. There is no service you have to subscribe to in order to use email and Internet functions if that is what you mean.0
