The Lidl one won a taste test in Closer magazine this week. Better than Baileys10

If you want a real cheapo-looking present, then homemade Baileys in the tackiest bottle you can find (an old squash bottle with the label half torn off, or something?) might do the trick.
I've had a quick Google, but the recipes coming up first are pretty complicated and expensive. I have a feeling the old one was something along the lines of one part whisky to four parts cream. And it was nice, too.
I remember making this years ago too! But the recipe stressed that it had to be kept in the fridge and consumed within 3 days (because of the cream) I had no problem with that!!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
We used to drink one from Aldi, i think it was called irish Cream or something?? I liked it, but then I rarely drink "proper" Baileys so have nothing to compare to.August grocery challenge: £50
Spent so far: £37.40 :A0 -
a friend brought back a bottle of amarula i think it was called, v similar to baileys..?Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..
Sometimes seen lurking on the compers forum :-)0 -
Only the best will do for me - we were in a bar on holiday and I asked for Baileys, it came out of a real Bailey's bottle BUT it certainly WAS NOT 'proper' Baileys! did say to them behind the bar, but hey he just shrugged his shoulders!!! I drank it though...0

LMAO
I'm with the "real" posters on this one. I can't stand the cheap stuff. My EX never could either so would cost me a fortune. She'd also not put ice in it because it "watered it down" LOL.
My OH now though loves the cheaper stuff so on this board's recommendations, I'm going to give the Aldi and Lidl ones a go! (she's also got 2 litres of Baileys for xmas - well, at £9 in Asda I couldn't pass it up!).
Please drink responsibly - hic!I am firmly across the line. I won't impose my values on you if you keep away from mine.

My daughter, not much of a drinker, dilutes her Baileys with milk. If you use really cold milk it's actually quite pleasant.0
