Sky+, communal dish and signal not picking up all channels – please help

Do you think it may be because I don't have two sockets for both of the feeds that this could be the problem? I didn't have this issue when I had the older box. To be honest I'm not bothered about being able to record programmes etc, maybe if I asked for one of the older style boxes then that would solve the issue?0

Sky will not touch a communial dish, you will need to talk to the factors as it is there responsibility. Do you pay a managment charge for the Sky?
As for the 'new' box. Sky actually put in refurbished boxes when called out and a box needs replaced. These are boxes that have been faulty (like yours), however the 'refurb' QA/QC is said not to be the best. I guess i'm saying its not uncommon for a replacment box to have faults that have not been fixed.0 -

This could be the problem. I hadnt realised you only had one feed. Does it always happen or only when recording. Have you set up a dummy recording? Do the following ensuring the cable is connected to Input1
Go to "Manual Recordings" ("Services" and 7) and setup a recording starting at 00:00am and finishing at 11:59pm with a frequency of "Daily" and save. It does not matter which channel it is recording.
This will force the box to always use Input 1.
See if this works.0 -

Really, I hadn't realised. When the engineers came out I did say please could you make sure that it is a new box and not a refurbished one and they assured me that they were but maybe that was a fib?
I do pay a management fee but there is nowhere in the breakdown of the quarterly invoice that says any part is for sky.
I will give them a call tomorrow and ask them to arrange for someone to come out and ask that they let me know if the issue is just relating to me before they do any work and then send me a huge bill.
Thank you both for your help and advice - its much appreciated0 -
Try replacing the lead between the wall plate (I'm assuming it's screwed onto a wall socket)

I haven't tried to record anything yet (not fussed about that feature tbh) but I can certainly try that to see if that makes a difference.
I got the first sky+ box two months ago when my old box gave up, that was the first sky+ box i'd had and thats when the problems started. I was away for three weeks on honeymoon two days after the first one was installed but have had two further sky+ boxes installed since returning and same issue with both. Thats why I thought if nobody else was having the issue it just may be that the sky+ box doesn't suit my property.0 -
