  • Morning All!

Sorry for being slightly off the radar this week, but it has been a bit manic.

Work has been really intense this week and also I haven't been feeling too clever, thought I was going to come down with what my DS had, but so far I seem to have escaped:D

Thankfully, all of the snow has been washed away by the rain overnight and so at least the roads will all be okay today. Sliding down the road with no traction has lost it's appeal somewhat in the last couple fo days:rotfl:.

Managed to pay off another £280 off my debts this week :j and am now only £32.12 away from hitting my personal target of £15,500 total debt by the end of January. Have got car tax to find this week  so I won't be able to slash much off the total, but I am determined to pay £67 off my virgin card to bring the total down to a very round £2500. It hasn't been as low as that for about 3 years:eek:. So, I am very pleased to see it disappearing especially as I am paying 34.9% on it every month . Although, I did ring them last week and they said once I had hit £1900 they would consider re-assessing my interest rate so that is what I have to aim for at the mo.

The overdraft is still miserable as I am putting all of my focus on the Virgin card because of the interest rate. Once I get down to £1900 I will put a lot more focus on the overdraft and really have a go at getting that down.

I have to admit that the 10 in 10 challenge is really doing wonders for keeping me focused on slaying the monster! I didn't realise just how competitive I am :o!

Well, off now to watch Go Diego Go with DS - the joys of being a mother!

    Take Care Everyone!

  • Hey Everyone!

Quiet week for me this week, but I still have managed to pay off another £67 this week bringing my total debt owed under £15,500 which means I have met my own personal challenge I set myself for January :j. Very pleased about that.

My next challenge is to be under £14k debt by the end of April. Do-able, but not easy. Work is looking a bit dodgy at the moment as they are making redundancies and as i am only a temporary worker I think I am first on the chopping block to be honest. We will just have to see.

Can't wait until I am rid of my Virgin card. I have managed to get it down to £2500 this month, and the more I am paying off, the more inspired i feel to keep going at it.

I dream of seeing a balance of £0.00!! :rotfl:

    Take care

  • I really should learn to keep my mouth shut.

Since posting on here this morning I have received a telephone call from work to say they are cutting my hours and I am going to be £60 a week worse off . I am sooo gutted. For the first time I honestly felt like I was getting on top of my debts and this has really knocked me.

Since hearing about my hours being cut I have been roaming around the house trying to find things I can sell which might help pull in some of the deficit. I am so angry because I was doing so well and was starting to feel so positive about things, but now I'm just not :(.

I have found some of my DS's old clothes so I can put a couple of bundles of those on ebay and some postman pat slippers he has NEVER worn!

Oh well, will keep you posted if anything else happens

  • I am in shock. I mean, seriously in shock!

What a difference a day makes??

As you know, last week I was dealt the blow that my hours were going to be cut  and I was going to be about £4k a year worse off.

Well, today I went in to find out that not only has the cut in my hours been reduced to just 3 less instead of the initial 10, but they have offered me a permanent position (singed by the Head of Service so concrete!) with...... A PAY RISE!!! :j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j

The rise is "still to be negotiated" which of course I am not going to sit quietly and let THEM dictate to me, but I have been told it will be between £2k and £6.5k!!!! :j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j

I am sooo thrilled because it means I am now in with a chance of paying off ALL my debts in 2010!!! :j:D:j:D:j:D:j:D:j:D:j:D

I think I might actually sleep when I go to bed tonight!!

    Love to you all
