Well I got my SAR stuff today!!! That was just over a week from posting request to getting info!!

Well this is the important info from what I can gather:

Took out loan in nov 2003 for £45,500 secured
Then we had £11,142.95 PPI added which covered the first oerson only.
The loan was paid out and other creditors were paid off.

We carried on with our loan paying £555.91 per month £100.61 of this was the PPI.

In March 2005 we settles the loan paying off a total of £56284.42 (this has a code SCQ next to it which isn't in the abbreveiations list)
This left us with a balance of -£818.80.

They have then added £1629.02 early settlement intrest.
    Taking balance to £810.22

Then they took off £960.22 with the code SIN next to it which again isnt on the list
Then they took off the remaining £150 leaving a zero balance (code ADF)

There is a copy of the PPI which we have both signed and a box has been ticked for the single not the joint cover.

Do you think we can reclaim?
Do I need any other info?

£11000 is a lot of money and we paid it off early, i cant see it anywhere but I am sure it was a 5 year policy which should of paid back something if we didnt claim.

Thanks as always for any help

    Brill.:T That was quick.

    Yes go for it.
For being sold a policy where both signed and it only protects the one is at least a complaint.
More info here, check this and if anything else occurs to you, you should write all that applies to you in your letter as well.
There are also template reclaiming letters to help you through this.
    Good luck.

    Thanks Di!!

Just doing my letter now, just a quick question (maybe more to follow)
How do I know if my PPI was a single premium policy?
Sorry if it is a simple answer lol

    Your welcome.:D;)

Right the PPI with single policies are normally added within the loan repayments, more info on link below, but for example, say a loan for over 15 or 20 years, most of these policies cover for only that of 5 years, it then ends by 5 years, but still payable in the loan for the remainder of the loan term.

But with the PPI being added in any loan is one of those rip off policies.;)

Also would it be worth mentioning in my letter that I signed the credit agreement on 13/11/2003 but didnt get the PPI policy documents until around the 20/11/2003? (according to all this paperwork I have here)

    This is all scarily exciting!!
