I see you have a tin of crab meat - this will make one of my favourite quick meals.
Finely chop some chilli and onion and fry gently in a bit of butter or oil, add crab meat and cook briefly until warmed through, stir through cooked pasta.
Sprinkle over some fresh herbs if you have them (parsley, coriander etc.) and a squeeze of lemon juice and you're away!0 -
i see yougurt and fruit on the ist - if you have any apple juice make a smoothie0

When I started being OS my first job was to go through cupboards and sort out what was near/recently past its sell by date - too much! -and then find a way to use it. This thinned out the cupboards a bit and helped me feel I was gradually getting control over them. Alternatively, look at the stuff you use least often and start with it? i used to love the feel of having stuffed food cupboards (and still like to feel that there's plenty of the basics!) but it is nice being able to see what's in there0

Are you OK eating veggie as I noticed there wasn't much meat there?
OK...
- Tuna pasta bake with a tin of toms for the sauce plus some of the veg from the freezer
- Dhal & rice with the lentils & split peas (I do actually have a proper recipe at home, PM me if you want me to dig it out, though it does depend on you having all the spices required!)
- Bean chilli with the kidney & baked beans
- Roasted vegetables & cous cous
- The soups could be used as a basis for a sauce & add veg
- Sausage casserole
- Vegetable chow mein with the sauce & noodles
- A 'meatless' sunday dinner with the stuffing, yorkshires, roast pots & veg, followed by tinned fruit

5 tins mackerel in tom sauce
4 tinned fruit - pudding of some sort, or in a trifle as a treat?
2 tins beans
4 tins spaghetti - either of these two on toast or use to accompany a dish
2 bolognese sauce - make bolognese - use onion granules if need be, and soem of the pasta and a quick easy meal you just need mince
2 tins tomatoes - make a tomato sauce for pasta, chilli, bolognese, soup
1 tin kidney bean - chilli bolognese or soup again maybe?
2 tins sausage casserole - ready made or to be made stuff?
1 tin peas
6 tins various soup - soup is fillign in itself if you have bread with it? or amke some croutons, you could also mix in breadcrumbs to little ones to bulk it out
3 dried chicken noodles - are these bachelor ones? you can have these on their own as a snack, or as part of a meal for you and other half
jam - sandwiches, deserts, on toast?
2 goblin puddings - no idea what these are but pudding?
loads of cup-a-soup - again soup can be filling.
lemon juice - how about makign some pancakes and using this on them, pancakes can be sweet as a pudding, savoury for a meal, can be frozen for next day breakfast.
2 tins tuna - pasta bake? on jacket potato?, sandwich filling?
pasta bake jar - pasta bake, could add a few chopped sausages if you ahve any about?
2 packs choc diegestives - snack? could use to make a cheesecake base
1kg dried fusilli
500g taglietelle
4 portions egg noodles
pack long spaghetti -again there are lots of ways to use pasta - my 3 year old lieks it cooked up with grated cheese melted on top adn hes quite happy to eat it like that. pasta bakes are easy to make with a jar of tomatoes too
porridge oats - breakfast, flapjacks
chow mein sauce serves two
pack mushroom cous cous - use to accompany a meal instead of pasta or potatoes
pack red lentils
1/2 pack yellow split peas - could use these and the lentils in homemade soup
veg stock cubes - again soup or use to cook rice in for added flavour
pack pearl barley
stuffing mix
sausage casserole packet mix
onion granules
dried mint
dried oregano
salt
1 1/2 tubes tom puree
two packets boil in bag rice - savoury rice, use with chilli, could possibly even use to make rice pudding but not sure
oil
vinegar
lea n perrins
salad cream
gravy
bread flour - bread obviously
caster sugar
granulated sugar
self raising flour - these three items you can use to make cakes, biscuits and other little things which will help fill up your family, hte flour could be used to thicken up sauces too.
FREEZER
Yorkshire puds
Roast potatoes
Fish fingers
sheperds pie for one
oven chips
sausages
Various bags with little bits of frozen veg - if you have no idea what to make with these why nto bung them all in a saucepan with soem of the veggie stock, cook them up, leave to simmer until cooked, then blend them and make a vegetable soup - you could freeze extra portions for a later date to keep you going.
If you can afford it hun - id recommend buying a bag of potatoes becuase these can make a multitude fo things - chips, mash, roasties, jacket potatoes in soem cases if big enough, home made wedges, sliced on top of hash, etc and a few packets of mince too. Tesco do 800g of beef mince for £1.49 - and if you divided these packs into two so you technically have 4 packs fo 400g of mince -then you can make four different meals and bulk them out with things - you can add porridge oats to things to bulk it out too as well as the lentils adn the peas you have etc.
Plus remember to freeze any access you ahve that you wont eat and then these can be used as a meal in the future rather than just goign in the bin
hoep ive helped in soem way
love
Sam

I'm going to use the mince, some beans, carrots, onion, potatoes and some chopped tomotoes (not listed) to make a shepherds pie tonight, but any help with some recipes to try and use up the rest and keep my shopping bills down would be much appreciated! (particularly the low carb stuff which, frankly, isn't suitable to be eaten on it's own and can't really be classed as real food :rotfl: , and also the fruit teas which I appear to have amassed, the consommes which I don't really like and the relishes/sauces which I acquired during a BBQ we held but now can't seem to use up!)
