I noticed I've been searches today by a company who confirms peoples identities. The problem is, I haven't applied for anything so no one has a reason to search me.

    Any ideas?

Could be someone trying to identify you? Like a 192.com search?

I've even had an unrecorded enquiry placed on my credit file by eBuyer when I ordered an expensive rig a few weeks ago!

Call the company concerned and ask what it was for :)

    Woop woop!

Just been approved (after many attempts over the last couple of years) for a Capital One Classic card. :j

I assume I'll be starting off with a £100 limit. Does anyone here have a Cap1 Classic card with a limit above £200? Reason I ask is my partner started with £100 and they upped it to £200 a few months ago but nothing since.

Someone tell me the card has a higher max limit than £200!

S'pose it's wishful thinking they will start me with £250 so I can ditch Vanquis?
Remember this: nothing worth doing is easy.

My hubby got Cap 1 Classic last month, his only C card starting limit £1000, only other credit JDW 1300 limit account been open since last July and one satisfied default due to drop off next oct.

I was amazed. But that's what they gave him.

Started April 09 with £100 limit. This was increased after 4 statements to £200. Always clear balance in full and got increase last month to £800.

Ditching Vanquis is exactly what I'm about to do!

Took me 2 years to get a £1500 limit, also remember this is a sub-prime card so credit increases don't happen like they would on a prime credit card....

Nid quick question, you have all them accounts including 5 bank accounts total debt £1,you say FD turn you down won't the easiest solution be is close down some of them accounts, reduce your limits on your cards, keep maybe 1 or 2 bank accounts, then surely FD will maybe favor your application then....

Mate I don't have many accounts! I have 5 bank accounts and 4 credit cards - plus a catalogue! I owe £0 and have available credit of £11k - I earn over £40k right now, but when I applied to FD last May my salary was double....

Its not the accounts that I have - its probs N Hunter cos my credit files are actually alright!

It was Innocent that had 22 accounts - mine is the red font and is 9 accounts matey...

Having 11k available credit and a small income probably is probably contributing to you being declined.

Mate I don't have a small income! I only have 60% LTV on our house as well........ its deffo got summat to do with hidden data, i.e. N Hunter & Cifas.....

I mean between the wife and myself we're easily on £100k - prior to my redundancy I earned that myself! And the same outcome, FD says no!

I'll SAR N Hunter/CIFAS again and confirm this next week or so when I hear back from them
