All I would like to confirm that HSBC Do offer pre-approvals! This was explained to me today by the branch!

I told you this last year - BUT subject to a CallCredit search followed by Experian if there is anything not adding up or adverse. :D:D

HSBC pre-approvals (based on internal behaviour score) always search callcredit.

    Elky/Innocent - what limits/apr did you get?

My HSBC is 9.9% - apparently the lowest tier (whoop whoop)
    :o 2010 - year of the troll :o

    £750 19.9%.

Apparently I'm on the highest tier, yay me. :j

Are they good at reducing the APRs?

I'm on 0% till next year but almost bug*ered it up, I almost bought something using the card. I only just remembered I was on interest free before typing my pin.

I think I was accepted for the Lloyds AMEX card but I don't know for 100% sure yet.

As expected, Blair, Oliver and Scott have cocked up updating my credit file. To quote from their letter before I made a payment in !!!!!!,

'we have accepted your offer of full and final settlement... Your credt {sic} file will be updated to show as partially satisfied for this account'

Nearly two months later and while the final payment shows up on my Credit Expert account, the status remains as 'default'.

What are my rights re. having them fix it?

When you look on the customer profile page and you have the customer name and address on the top left hand side, on the right there is Customer Identification Number (CIN), Behaviour Score and mobile number.

If you have for example Personal Loan = £15000, Overdraft = £2000 & Credit card = £2000 this is pre-approved with no credit check.

When you look in customer profile where you have the 'Limits' screen these are subject to further checks i.e callcredit search

    For example

    Account Number: 1234566

    ...........................Overdraft........... Credit Card............... Personal Loan

    System Recommend £1000...............£4000..............Nil
    Accepted - .................Nil...............£1500...............Nil

Oh BTW I have also confirmed 100% that branch can override the system decision.

NID has already told everyone about this but I double checked this today anyway when I had my little lesson in the HSBC back office :D
