If I need £75 cash for tomorrow, what's the cheapest way to do it? I've got about £100 credit left on Cap1 card, £20 on Natwest Credit Card and £10 of my overdraft.... Is it cheaper to try and go over my overdraft? Any rise wouldn't take effect until Tuesday morning (too late, and I get paid then anyway) so just wondering which is best...to go over it and get a fine, or pay credit card interest. I'm guessing going over it would hit my credit score big time too?

Oooh I saw lovely bones the other week too. Tomorrow it's Shutter Island :D

I already have. It's annoying too, I've got £16.59 apparently, which is even worse as cash machine will only let me have 10! My balance is shown as £41.59 for some bizzare reason, I have no idea why, I guess about 900 quids worth of stuff is still pending, as I'm certainly well into minus (that's why only £16 is available).

Was thinking of calling to get it increased, and it should go up as of 2am if I do it quick enough...I'll give it a try now lol, not sure they are 24 hour like Halifax though. And Halifax won't give me overdraft on my account, and won't approve me for a current account!

Ah gotta love Natwest...they have a 24/7 service centre, but they're useless if you call outside of 9-5! Apparently I must speak to the lending department, which is closed...but I went through the same options as last time, so I don't get it, unless it re-transfered me to somewhere else after I pressed student overdrafts. I'll try it again in a bit but withold my number to make sure I get a different bloke (some companies re-connect you to the same person if they are available when you phone back!).

Just thought about asking my flatmate...she knows I've easily got enough but just have no access to it tomorrow so I'll pay her back Tuesday (if my bursary gets here) or Wednesday (when I'm 100% getting paid). Will try that in the morning if no payments come through at 2am.... That way I'd avoid loads of interest and get her chocolate or wine or something.

Is this the one I'd pay?

Unpaid Item FeeAn Unpaid Item Fee will be payable if:
    • you informally request an overdraft by issuing instructions for a withdrawal or other payment; and
    • the payment cannot be met from the funds in your account or any unused arranged overdraft facility; and
    • we decide in our discretion not to make the payment.
21 days after the end of the charging period in which we decide not to make the payment (or on the next business day if this is a Saturday, Sunday, or Bank Holiday). The charging period normally ends on the date that we issue your statement to you.

    £5 for each item

£5 isn't too bad, I'll take out loads to get value for money.... Edit...that's not make payment..so if they make payment (and give me the money) then it's only the interest? Quality....

You wouldn't have this problem if you kept a positive balance on your account each month.

Overdrafts are bad! You should know that!

Haha, I used to, until I realised how much I could make using the overdraft. Using that extra grand for betting has made me over £200 more in the week alone. I totally maxed everything out because I have payments coming Tuesday and Wednesday. Wednesday's payment is certain, and Tuesday should be pretty certain - so I would be able to take out the cash I need and more for going out etc Wednesday. I didn't expect to be told, at 10pm last night, that we were paying the deposit for our holiday today lol :rotfl:. If they'd told me 6 hours before that then I wouldn't have stuck all of it on the Premier League for Wednesday! :rotfl:

Yea I agree overdrafts are bad though, but it makes me a lot of money, and credit people tell me to clear off either way, so I'm going to get more actively using it than leaving it sitting there, in the hope that I might get a credit card, which in all probability I'm not going to really need. This has taught me to only take it down to -£900 incase something like this happens again though!!

My flatmate has saved me anyway now :heart2: :D
