  • Hi guys! Hoping you can help, you all seem so on the ball lol. Looking to see if i should apply for a new/better cc in the next few months.

I dont have any defaults, i have some late payments that will be over 12 months old next month, they are showing as '1's' on my credit report - and i had an arrangement to pay that was reverted back to a normal account last April with MBNA

Off the top of my head I have 14 accounts showing on my credit report, but some of these are settled.

I already have a capital one progress card that i try to pay off in full every month i also have a vanquis (had credit issues in past but all ok and clear now and not on report)vanquis i am just paying off and closing - had that 2 years.

Also have a next account that i have had 10 years plus and a jd williams account i have had 5 years. I owe little on these, about £100 over the 2 but i have limits of £2200 on next and £1500 jd williams I also have a loan i have had 4 years that finishes this month and a mobile contract

Sorry for waffling but i know sometimes the more info the better. Just really looking to see if i may be considered for a lower rate card.

    Cheers!:T

Is there any reference to the arrangement to pay situation on your file?

I think the late payments may go against you, considering they are only 12 months old. Although you never specified exactly how many late payment markers you have? One or two may be acceptable to many lenders but any more than that isn't good.

What is your debt to income ratio like? If you owe too much money then that'll also go against you.

Saying that, the only way you'll know for sure if you'll get a decent credit card is to apply for one and see. If you get declined, then I guess you'll just have to wait another few months.

Well done! They seem to be accepting left right and centre over at Sygma now, huh? Well I've closed my Vanquis account now that I have a Silver & a Barclaycard. No need for sub prime any more!

The silver card is really nice looking IMHO, the dashes down the right hand side are semi-holographic, in as much as they change colour depending how the light hits the card. Nifty.

My Barclaycard has gone astray in the post hmmmmmm I wonder if me having a mail redirect has anything to do with it?

I'd be surprised if it was due to the redirection, I've got cards from A&L and Cap1 since I've had things redirected, and I've had statements from A&L, Cap1, Natwest, O2, Halifax and Citibank with no problems...

I only saw the last 10 minutes when I got back from the pub (no TV at the one I went to with a few mates). They were pretty shocking, could see the equaliser coming tbh, but 3 games in hand, you'll be fine... :)
