They charged me when I was under 18 the ****ers

I reminded them how it was illegal to charge Under 18s (none of the banks charge, they aren't allowed to) and eventually Customer Relations refunded the charges. To make it worse, it wasn't even my fault for going overdrawn, they authorised a payment twice!

    who zack natwest or ltsb

Natpest, but none of them are allowed charge, it's just some of them (I know Halifax for sure) use the fact they aren't charging as a selling point!

I think somewhere I read natwest do issue the purple card without the CGC logo on it, althought some people did think the machine making the card made an error. But since the scheme is being "pulled", you can always ask them.

    :rotfl:Strange!

I'm going to have a nice credit card bill next week :rotfl:. Was debating whether to wait until Natwest statement my card, but it's so maxed out I'd have to pay some towards it anyway, and I don't want to wait until 23rd when Cap1 do mine, so brought PS3 stuff today on Cap1. Biggest balance I've had on there, making use of my new credit limit :D

Although I didn't spend 66p, so I presume that's authorisation when I added my card because it's a different MCC, and it'll get deleted, because 66p hasn't appeared in my paypal account...

I've seen something really weird with Natwest.

I have a Step account and this weekend I begun the application process for a Plus account. I just entered my personal details and exited the application as I didn't intend to complete it anyway.

I have just checked my Equifax report and guess what... There is a full credit search made by Natwest.

They search you and then score you as you go through. I was declined midway through for a credit card, because I already had one. But why they wasted their money and decided to make my file worse by searching me I'll never know. I could have an amazing credit record but the fact remains they still wouldn't have given me the card, so seems pointless even searching!

How can they legally credit search you before you finalise and submit an application?

I have written to them and requested they remove the search. If they don't, I will write to the ICO.

If you tick any box at the begining of the application, or sometimes even just by clicking the 'next' button.. it'll say in the terms and conditions your agreeing to be credit searched anytime throughout the application stage.
